Show Millard Academy Notes. The Excelsior Club gave a matinee Tuesday afternoon. The girls are good entertainers and seem to rather like the job. The Freshies entertained the Faculty and their wives in the Gym. last Friday night. The evening was spent in playing games and dancing and a dainty lunch was served. The Sophomores also had a party, but as it was on a school night but little has been heard or it. We all know however that the Faculty knew of it and that, "'the Way of the Transgressor is Hard." A very lively and interesting basket ball game between M. A. and Spanish Fork was played-here played-here Saturday night. Both teams did good worK and students made happy with a score of 26 to 34 in favor of Millard. Friday morning a friend and old college chum of Bro. Stevens and Bro. Peterson visited school and gave a beautiful and instructive instruct-ive lecture on France. He is a graduate from the Agriculture College and has spent the last three years as a missionary in i' 'ranee. Debating is at present a very live issue of the school. The Freshies and Sophomores debated debat-ed Monday morning. The First years, Elenor Ashby, Mirian Theouald and Maud Badger had the Negative side. The Second year debaters, Ralph Sanford, iyie Cropper and Rich Lyman upheld tne Affirmative. The Affirmative received all decisions of tne j udges. The Juniors and Seniors debated Tuesday morning. morn-ing. Bly Mocdy, Evan Theo-Daid Theo-Daid and Norma Damron. The Seniors or Affirmative speakers were Eugene Hilton, Pearl Mor-tensen Mor-tensen and Marvin Moody. The Seniors received all three decisions. de-cisions. The final debate which will determine the inter-class champions take place Thursday. Both winning teams, the "Sophomores "Sopho-mores and Seniors are hoping for final victory. |
