S Bishop got 18 IS tons of beets to the acre and on the entire piece of 23 acres he he- averaged 12 tons The writer took a photo of that crop in midsummer and it certainly looked good Thai acreage was co computed from the drill so that It is accurate The land was in the Clawson farm tarm just across the reservoir Rays Ray's hay was good and went fully tully 5 6 tons to the acre He did not nOot try for tor seed on a any y of it as it was too luxuriant As a hay crop he did specially w well we'll ll with it for tor he sold first second and third crop cuttings for 20 a ton And sold all he could spare When a man can raise hay bay hayand I and sell it at that figure there Is no need of taking a chance on the big reward of ot seed For a seed farm he has just bought an acreage at HInckley buying It below the market price that location location location loca loca- tion and soil Boll is adapted to tor seed and always with an anchorage safely laid in hay in feeding and In plenty of at livestock Ray will use the th other farm tarm for tor seed raising He favors a silo and will have one In due course We will wUl all get to b better better farming later with less land and more livestock livestock livestock live live- stock he tells the writer N.
