Show Go-To-School Campaign Progresses More than 40 national organizations organiza-tions educational, economic, social so-cial and civic are supporting the campaign to get employed high school pupils back to the classrooms class-rooms next month. In 30 States especially organized campaigns are under wiiy. Greatest stress is beJ ing place on the importance of having a well-educated citizenry in the post-war era and the hundreds of thousands of high school boys and girls who have gone to work are being advised by veterans and others of the Importance of preparing prepar-ing for the new era. In a Joint statement. Katharine F. Lenroot, Chief of the Children's Bureau of the U. S. Department of Labor, and John W. Studebaker, U. S. Commissioner Commis-sioner of Education, said, "throughout "through-out the campaign we are stressing the importance of developing well supervised school-nnd-work programs pro-grams in those communities where the labor' supply is tight and where the work of young people is both needed and desirable." |
