Show G. I. Wives Meet . . . The G. I. Wives were entertained at the home of Kirsten Jewkes last Wednesday evening. "One High" was played with Lila Ball and Mel-va Mel-va Finlinson winning prizes. Members Mem-bers present were Marge Boshard, June Smith, Faye Tomer, Mae Welch, Betty Colby, Beth Holman, Lila Ball, LaRee Davis, Carole Schlappi, and Kirsten Jewkes. The guests were Thelma Black, Melva Finlinson and Norma Hannifin. Mrs. C. E. Simpson received word after six weeks that her son Cpl. William Simpson, who is in Belgium Belgi-um in the Army, was well and safe in a good fox hole. President and Mrs. Harold R. Morris and Bishop and Mrs. A. O. Gardner, and Miss Margaret Gardner Gard-ner went to Salt Lake City this past week, where the men atended the County Officials convention as members of the Millard County Commission. M-S N. L. Petersen spent the past week in Hinckley. M-S Stanley Knight, of Salt Lake City, attended the memorial services ser-vices Sunday in Hinckley for SSgt. Max Theobald. M-S W. C. Cole are in Salt Lake city this week. Mr. Cole's sister from Idaho, went as far as Salt Lake with them. She has been visiting vis-iting here. The war situation on the German Ger-man front is moving very favorably favora-bly to us. If continued successes meet our arms, Germany may be defeated sooner than some tho't possible at the time of the Belgium break-through. Russia is putting up a glorious scrap. |
