Show War Bond Sales Lagging Badly In Vth Loan Drive County Has Reached But 34 Percent of Its Quota in Vth War Loan OASIS LYNNDYL ABRAHAM LEAMINGTON DESERET Oasis, the first town in Utnh 1o go over the top, is still credited that way. Lynndyl went over the top last week. Abraham, I, earning- ton and Deseret report this week that they are over Iho top. It remains re-mains now fo the other towns and communities to rcprot that Ihey are also over the top jn this Vth War Loan Drive. Generally the State as a whole has raised 35 percent of the quota given them. Millard County is bit percent of its quota, or four pei-oent pei-oent below the State average. It will remain now for the house to house canvass to see if the a-mounts a-mounts can be raised. The pict urc show, donated by the management of the Crest Theatre, was not too good in bond sales. Many attended the show, but verj few honds were sold at the theatre. According to Orran Ashby, Chairman Chair-man of the Millard County drive, the propects of our county raising the quota are very meager. In the past it was a question only of how soon Millard County would go o-ver o-ver Iho top. Now it is a question of whether or not Ihey will reach the top. There will be not more "entertaining" "enter-taining" feat ures, says Ashby in the drive and it is up to the individual in-dividual purchaser to put Millard County over the top or at best close to the top. |
