Show Lynndyl - Mrs. Rachel Simpson Mrs. Mamie Pargis entertained the "500" Club Wednesday evening even-ing at her home. A very enjoyable evening was spent in playing cards with Rachel Simpson wining high score, Effie Allen second and Kate Hayes the cut prize. A light luncheon lunch-eon was served to the following; Mary Smith, Kate Hayes, Jennie Huddleslen, Adelia Coleman, Max-jne Max-jne Coleman, Rachel Simpson and Effie Allen. Mrs. Effie Allen and daughter, Frances and Ruby, spent Friday in Salt Lake City. Major and Mrs. Warren Miller and son, Billy, weijt to Salt Lake for a few days and will go on to Pennsylvania to visit Major Millers Mil-lers mother, before returning to over seas duty. Miss Gladys Banks will leave Saturday to spend the summer with her brother, Captain Freddie Banks and wife, in Ottumwa Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith have as their guests, her brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Emelay, and Mr. and Mrs. Deward Clark and children, of Salt Lake City. Miss Elaine McCann, of Salt Lake, is visiting with Louise Wiley for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. ' Loran Wiley, of Garfield, are here visiting Mr. Wiley's Wi-ley's mother, Sara Ann Wiley and Rodger Wiley. Miss Eldona Coleman returned from Provo, after having spent a few days with her brother, Blaine. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Larson left Saturday for California. Reed is Chairman for the Car men of the Union Pacific railroad and will attend at-tend the convention in Los Angeles. Ange-les. They will also visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Thompson of Ingel-wood. Ingel-wood. On their arrival Sunday, they will have dinner at the Knotts berry farm and attended the Tom Breneman res'iaurant Monday morning. Beverly will go down later and return home with her parents. Garth Wiley, of Provo, has been visiting with La Var Dutson. Saturday Sat-urday morning Mr. John Dutson and sons, Eddie and La Var, also Garth Wiley, went to Salt Lake for a few days. Miss Georgia Dutson is visiting in Salt Lake with her mother, Mrs. Arnel Dutson, of Salt Lake, spent Monday and Tuesday visiting here. Varley Dutson spent a few days in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Sol Angel returned home from Salt Lake. Mr. Angel underwent an operation for appendicitis. ap-pendicitis. Mr. Joe Easterbrook, of Salt Lake, spent Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith. Margaret Smith, Shelly and Mol-lv Mol-lv Mills, went to Salt Lake for a few days. Mrs. Ruby Talbot spent a few days in Salt Lake last week. Monday night a party was given giv-en at Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Soren-sens Soren-sens in honor of Mrs. Charlie Smith and Mrs. Bob Pendray's birthday. Mutual Conference was attended Friday, by Royal and Tressa Terry. He reports the Descret Stake won first place in Division Ten, for the highest subscription for the Era out of ten Stakes. He received the Special Citation for the Deserel Stake. Mrs. Curt Johnson is home aflei spending a couple of weeks visiting visit-ing her folks in Cedar City. They wil return to Provo Tuesday where they will join Loraine Thompson who has been attending the B.Y.U She will return with them to Los Angeles for the summer. Colleer Nielson is going back with them Roy Thompson former resident here met with a car accident in Los Angeles, and was quite badly injured, but is much improved Miss Georgia Dutson, Shirley Sheriff, Wendell Dutson and Bobby Bob-by Ivie, were Salt Lake visiters on the week end. Mrs. Rachel Simpsen, Janeane and Louise Wiley spent the week end visiting Mrs. Louise Clark in Salt Lake. They returned Sunday evening with Bill Simpsen, Jim Smith and Dern Roper. Dern Roper left, Monday, for San Bernardeno, Calif, where he will be employed by the Union Pacific railroad. Mrs. Bill Kenross and sons, of Milford, spent a few days visiting her mother, Mrs. Sara Ann Wiley and brother, Rudger Wiley, who is recovering from a car accident. They returned to Milford Monday. Robert and Dee Wiley returned with them for a visit. Therlo Wiley spent a few days in Salt Lake last week end. Mr. and Mrs. Gaven Wier, Mrs. Effie, Billy and Ruby and Rachel Simpsen spent Memorial Day in , Leamington and Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harris and , Bert returned to Salt Lake Tues-day. Tues-day. Mrs. Jerome Ivie and Harold accompanied them. Tuesday evening Mrs. Mae Miller Mil-ler and Mrs. Effie Allan entertained entertain-ed at dinner in honor of Mrs. Allan's Al-lan's Birthday. A very delicious dinner was served, a beautiful Birthday Cake formed the center piece and those who were there were: Mr. and Mrs. Warren and son, Billy, Mrs. Gaven Wier, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Simpsen. The evening even-ing was spent in playing Pinochle. Mrs. Allan received many nice gifts. |
