Mrs. Ida Hollingshe'ad from Pan- aca, Nevada, is here visiting her ' son and family. Mrs. Noble Peterson, Mrs. Oiive Brackett, and Mrs. Janice Borchert went to Salt Lake City and spent last weekend. Mrs. Lila Ball and daughter got home Sunday after spending a few months with Mr. Ball in North Carolina. Car-olina. M-S Ben Sampson, Lou Etta and Merlin Sampson and Miss Shirley Stevens of Holden returned Monday Mon-day night from Driggs, Idaho, here they visited M-S Easton Sampson. Easton has recently recovered from an operation for appendicitis and is now back teaching in the seminary sem-inary there. Miss Delma Sampson Spent a few days here last week with her parents, M-S George Sampson. Mrs. Glen Rawlinson and children child-ren are spending this week here with her parents, M-S Marion Hen-rie. Hen-rie. Mrs. Krit Petty from Salt Lake City, was a visitor to Delta this past week. Mrs. Pheobe Bills from Salt Lake City transacted business in Delta this week. The Ann E. Melville Bishop camp of the DUP will not hold a meeting this month. Mrs. Nettie Turner Stanworth re-veiced re-veiced the Purple Heart due her husband, Therol Stanworth, for wounds he received in action- He is in England. Mrs. R. J. Law attended the Relief Re-lief Society convention in Salt Lake City held there during conference. Mrs. Tom Riding returned this week from Hawthorne. Nev., where she visited her husband who is stationed sta-tioned there. Mrs. Taylor Riding, Tom's mother, went with her. Mrs. Wesley Sampson brought her little daughter home from Salt Lake where the child has been having hav-ing medical care for some time. She is much improved. John W. Wright, who has been employed in Washington, D. C. for the last few years, arrived in Delta Del-ta Friday. His brother Joe and family of Salt Lake City, came to Delta with him. A brother, Ianthus Ian-thus Wright and family of Cedar City came up for the week end. Their sister, Mrs. Vernell Baker of Deseret entertained at a dinner on Sunday for the four brothers, Spencer, Spen-cer, John, Joseph and Ianthus and their families. Stanley Folsom, old-time resident resi-dent here, visited with friends on Monday. When here he was manager mana-ger of the Rudy-Patrick Seed Co., and is now in the seed buying business bus-iness in the East. He will be remembered re-membered by old timers. M-S Reed Walker and three children, from California, are visiting vis-iting in Hinckley and Delta during the deer season. Carl Nugent, son of Rev. and Mrs. Carl Nugent, Delta, is one of 20 men students pledged to men's literary lit-erary societies at Heidelberg college, col-lege, Tiffin, this week. Nugent, a member of the freshman class, was pledged to the Heidelberg Society. After a two-day period of initiation, initia-tion, pledges are feted and formally admitted to membership. The literary societies at Heildel-berg Heildel-berg were originally established as purely literary organizations, but now play an important role in the social as well as the academic life of the campus. Mrs. Lorayne Van was hostess to a rook party held at her place n Thursday evening. Pot luck supper was served and the rest of the evening eve-ning as spent playing rook. Those present were Lorayne Van,' Marie Lake, Enid Hopkins, Lucille Sampson, Samp-son, Evelyn Cropper, Verle Damron, Bessie Webb and Donna Sagers. Prizes were won by Evelyn Cropper Lucille Sampson and Marie Lake. Mrs Homer Petersen and children child-ren are visiting in Myton with her parents. |
