Show Marvin Erickson Killed by Coal Truck Accident Happened When Erickson Walked Back of Waiting Car Marvin Erickson was killed instantly in-stantly Wednesday night in front of the Erickson home near Sutherland Suther-land at about 11:15. He and Ralph Blair were driving north of the oiled oil-ed road and stopped to let Erickson Erick-son out al his home. Erickson calked back of the car lo cross Ihe road and it is thought that he walked into the side of a coal truck and semi-trailer. The impact threw him under the trailer and he was run over. According to Jack Bennett, deputy depu-ty sheriff, there was no mark on the truck or trailer showing that it had hit him and it leaves the manner of his death in doubt. He could have slipped on the icy road, or some part of his clothing could have caught on the Iruck dragging him under the wheels. At this time the details of the accident are not known. Leon Glazier, of Price, was the operator of the large coal truck and semi-trailer and was returning from Topaz after having delivered a load of coal there. Marvin had suffered a severe accident ac-cident years ago in which he lost the sight of one eye, and according accord-ing to Mr. Blair, Marvin had seen and remarked about the truck on leaving the car, but had started to walk as soon as the truck passed, not realizing that a trailer was following. fol-lowing. The trailer was coming toward to-ward him on his blind side. Marvin was born in Sutherland, Nov. 27, 1925 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Royal Erickson. The parents were divorced and Mrs. Erickson married John Klein and moved to California. Marvin was spending the winter here with his father and grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Laura Erickson, and was attending school where he was a junior in the Delta High school. He is survived by his father, Royal Roy-al Erickson; his mother, Mrs. John Klein; one sister and two half-brothers. half-brothers.
