W Hopkins was born at Cedar City September 14 1855 and came with wi his fathers father's Camil family to Kanosh in 1860 He herded cows with the Indians and had many scraps with his Ills colored brethren when they would steal his dinner He married Arietta Arletta Ann Carter and had a family Camily of oC nine children Mr Hopkins came to Delta in 1919 from Crom Sevier County County and and has made his home here ever family met at his sons son's home Sunda Sunday Sun Sun- da day and listened to the six eighty-six year ear old man tell of oC the early days in Corn Creek Kanosh and of oC his days of service when a young oung man He learned to talk Indian and in to return taught the young Indians to speak English He loves to relate the experiences of his early life Mr Hopkins ranks rank as the second oldest man in Delta Delt II H.
