Raleigh Franklin put the tarp cover on his truck and took a load of the young people up aiound 5:30 and others came in their cars. We played ball until it gto too dark to see, then we built a big tire and fixed our supper. sup-per. After we had eaten all we could hold we went over the am-phi-theatre and had a good program. pro-gram. Those taking part were Mar ilyn, Karen and Joan Murray, doing do-ing a comic dance, accompanied by Eleanor Murray and Peggy Franklin, LaVoy Toibert and Myron My-ron Taylor san ftwo songs and accompanied ac-companied themselves with their ukelele and guitar. Then the three McClay girls who are visiting here from California gave three numbers; num-bers; Afton and Rhoda, a hula, Joan Murray, dap danced to "Way Down Upon The Swanee River". Then two genuine south seas girls (Sherrill Toibert and Bob Blanche) did the dance 'Lovely Hula Hands' which stole the show. All the musical mus-ical numbers were accompanied by "Doe" and LaVoy. After the program pro-gram we went back to our camp fire and sang songs and toasted marshamallows. Our evening was closed with prayer by branch president pres-ident Gus Taylor. Everyone had a good time an dthe evening was one of the warmest we had had for a week, which helped make it all the more enjoyable. . Mr. .and Mrs. John Owens and family from Lark visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. James Brady. Mr. Owens is Sarah's bro- Tuesday. Mrs. Julia Bliss will give a demonstration on how to make those lovely sequin pictures. Warren (Rock) Straiten, who is in business in Orem, visited In this vicinity with friends and he and Clark Bliss went dove hunting together. to-gether. . Friday afternoon Mrs. Stella Day of Fillmore, regional director, met at the Abraham Church house with members of the Garden Clubs of this area. She answered what questions the gardeners had and gave us some interesting information informa-tion on planting flowers for each month. She also showed quite a number o'f colored slides of her beautiful garden in Fillmore and she gave each lady present several sever-al Rose cuttings to plant. The Abraham Ab-raham Garden Club were hosts and served a nice luncheon of ice cream in dixie cups, Marguar-ites, Marguar-ites, and cookies. Mrs. Louise Peterson and family from Orem visited Sunday with Mr and Mrs. Clark Bliss. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Toibert, La-Aoy La-Aoy and Sherrill spent Saturday shopping in Provo. Mrs. Clifford Peterson and son and daughter, returned .home Sunday Sun-day evening after vacationing in the Pacific Northwest. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Fullmer, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Poulsen went out to Amasy Valley hunting pinenuts. It seems good to see Ed Taylor around on his crutches now after being confined to the house for so many weeks. And his neighbor, Raleigh Franklin is able to get by with a cane now after spending ov er a mon....th on crutches. Both accidents were due to carelessness. : ADMIRABLE ASSASSIN . . Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Young and family have, moved back to their home here after having spent the summer months on the Young Ranch out north of here. There has been a lot of complaint com-plaint from the authorities about how we are mistreating our new oil. road. They ask us to please not ride horses over it or to damage it in any way. We have been working wor-king for years to get this new road so now let's try and take good care of it. I Mr. and Mrs. John Fullmer and I Richard Fullmer spent a day in Provo last week on business and having John's eyes checked which have been giving him trouble. Visiting alst week at her brother's broth-er's homes, were Mr. and Mrs. Ruf-us Ruf-us Westover of Clear Field. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Taylor Tay-lor and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Taylor Tay-lor and also several old friends. Mrs. Westover is the former Maud Taylor. . Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Franklin entertained at an out-door supper cooked on the fireplace for Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Carey and Mrs. Edith Carey o'f Aberdeen, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Elnathan Abbott and family. An enjoyable evening was spent show ing pictures on the movie screen. Mrs. Edith Carey has been here visiting for the past month with her daughter, Mrs. Abbott. The Relief Society work day was postponed this week until next |
