Show South Tract Garden Club Has Election The annual business meeting of the South Tract Garden Club was 1 Oct. 10 at the home of Mrs. Effie Nielson. The constitution and bylaws by-laws were read to the group by I the president, and a financial report re-port and minutes of the year were given. Election was the major task of j lne evening. This club has adopted adopt-ed a unique system of election.' They call it the step-up system.; Everyone has a job. The vice president pres-ident automatically becomes the president and so on down the line. The reporter's office is the only one voted on. Officers for the coming year will be Betty Baker, president; Erma McCullough, vice president; Lucre-tia Lucre-tia Teeples, secretary and treasurer. treasur-er. Effie Nielson was voted into the vacated reporter's office. They found in their suggestion box new members were wanted. They would like to make their club bigger and better as years go by and Mrs. Lucretla Teeples was appointed to see people who may be interested in joining the club. The fee is $1.00 a year. Anyone Any-one interested may contact Mrs. Teeples. It was also suggested they work toward first place among clubs at the Flower Show next year. This yeiar they took third place. They began work on their program pro-gram for the coming year and plan to have every detail complete-by January. They have asked ask-ed Mrs. Beth Anderson for a 12-week 12-week class in advanced interior decorating to begin the first of the year. Mrs. Nielson gave each member a packet of pink petunia seeds from her own garden. A stick of pink striped peppermint candy tied with a pink ribbon was attached to each packet. The members were delighted with the true garden gar-den spirit. |
