Show Hawaiian All-Stars To Play M-Men Thurs., Feb. 7 Local basketball fans have a treat in store on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 7, when the Hawaiian Hawa-iian All-Stars meet an all star team from the M-Men at Palomar. Besides the basketball game the Hawaiians are bringing two hula dancers and will put on a thirty minute floor show at half time showing Hawaiian dances and playing pla-ying Hawaiian musical numbers. The All-Star basketball team is working its way west after a series ser-ies of games in the east and playing play-ing in various towns on their way before returning to Hawaii. They leave an impressive record behind them so far having won 51 of 54 games they have played, mainly against junior colleges. Those who have seen the team play state that they are a very fine team, and that the floor show alone is worth the price of the admission. The M-Men, under the direction of Alfred Lake, will pick the players pla-yers to meet this team, and the M-Men have a fast, strong league this year that should be a good match for the barnstorming Hawaiians. Hawa-iians. Their schedule will be completed com-pleted this week and at present time it looks like Oak City will be the winners with Hinckley the runners run-ners up. The game is being sponsored by the Delta Lions club who hope to raise some money for a community com-munity project that they have on their hands. Reserved tickets will go on sale this Saturday at the Baker Pharmacy Phar-macy and Service Drug. Other tickets will be 25c for children up 1 to twelve; 50c for students with cards; 75c general admission; and $1.00 for reserved seats. There are no home games for two weeks and this game should fill in quite a gap and prove popular pop-ular with the fans who want to see good fast basketball. There will only be 400 reserved seats on sale, so it is advised that you get yours early. |
