He is in the navy. Eva Mae Black was in Hinckley last week visiting with her parents. Mrs. Pearl Rollins from Moun-tain Green was visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Joy Hurst. Her son, 'Myron Who will graduate from the USAC this year was also visit-ing with Joy and also Pat Pratt. Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Nielson visit-ed in Salt Lake City last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William Bonner are visiting in Salt Lake for the first part of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Talbot and Jimmy Meinburg spent Monday in in Salt Lake. Jimmy and Dean are taking medical treatment. Kenny aTlbot, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Talbot had a birth-day party Tuesday. Guests were Karen, Howard Stewart, Jerry J. Franklin, Jean Stockman, Gwen Searle, Beverly Bennett, Debra Bis-hop, Michael Talbot, Russell Tal-bot, and Deon Talbot. They played games and ice cream and cake was served. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardy have recently bought the Ellen Stan-wort- h home. They are planning on moving in in the near future. Mr and Mrs. A. L. Kimber re-turned to Delta Sunday from Long Beach, Cal., where they had visited several days with Mrs. Kimber s mother. The hall was at-tractively decorated and music was furnished by Bud's Band. and Gleaner class members drew numbers for the King and Queen crowns and Leo Lake and Miss Cristel Nielson were the lucky pair. Mrs. Thelma Seegmiller of the Delta Elementary school conducted a class here Tuesday evening of last week on reading readiness, which was very interesting. Miss Snyder Primary Supervisor of the county schools followed the next Tuesday with a continuation. Ivan Nielson, of Oak City, was a Stake Board visitor to our Sun-day School last week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mc Cardell and boys visited in Salt Lake Sun-day on their return spent the night in Nephi as there was such a wild blizzard raging. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carrington were able to bring their infant son home last week after two weeks in the Payson hospital where it had been since birth. Mrs. Rachel Simpson and son, Jay, came down from Provo to bring Mr. land Mrs. Bill Simpson and family, who had the misfor-tune of wrecking their car going to Provo. No one was hurt w,hen their car rolled over. Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson spent the day Wednesday in Salt Lake Sunday morning Mr. Nielson left on a tour of California with a group of Millard County farmers. Mrs. Clarence Hogan was a Salt Lake visitor for several days last week. Miss Phyllis Turner was home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Turner Friday. Mr. and Mrs. George Maxwell and son visited La Roes parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greathouse ov-er the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson and Ross spent the week end in Los Angeles visiting their daughters, Connie 'and Clorean. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson receiv ed word of a little daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Kent Nielson in Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen J. A. Sunday evening an interesting program was given by the stake genealogical group. Talks were given by Marion Jeppson and Wal-lace Jeffery. Mr. Clark Bishop and Layton Bishop sang two numbers. A good crowd were present. Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Black are in Salt Lake City where Mr. Black received a blood transfusion and medical oare. SPECIAL MEETING Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the stockhold-ers of the Oasis Seed Plant Co-operative an Agricultural organized under the laws of the State of Utah has been called and will be held at the Oasis ward hall at Oasis, Utah, on March 10, 1952, at 8:00 p. m. for the purpose of considering and acting upon a proposal to amend the Articles of Incorporation of the association in the following particulars: To amend Article I to show the name of the to be "THE OASIS SEED To amend Article VIII, sub sec-tion "a" in relation to the time and place of holding the annual meeting and election of officers, to provide that there be held on the second Monday in August of each year beginning with the year 1952 at 7:30 p. m. of said day, at Oasis, Utah, an annual meeting of the stockholders of th,is for the election of members of Board of Directors, hearing of an-nual report and for the transaction of such other business as may lawfully come before the said meeting. The election of members of the Board of Directors shall be rotated in such a manner that in the year 1952 three of the mem-bers of said board shall be elected for a period of 2 years and two of the members of said Board of Directors shall be elected for the period of 1 year. Each year there-after all board members voted up-on will be elected for a period of 2 years, but only one-ha-lf of the board members will be voted upon each year and only one half of the members of the Board of Directors can be changed in any one election year. To amend Article XIV providing for the mutual benefit of members to provide that patrons who have not paid membership dues as pro-vided in the Articles of Incorpora-tion shall not be entitled to pat-ronage refunds or certificates of interest as provided for members, but that the will pay taxes as the revenue code may re-quire upon such business of rs or patrons doing busin-ess with the Reason-able reserves and surplus funds as determined by the Board of Direc-tors may be set aside from year to year and after setting aside such surplus funds the balance of savings made by the association may be distributed on a patronage basis to the holders of the com-mon stock, who shall have contrib-uted to the business of the assoc-iation, in proportion to the volume and value of products and business done with the association. Such patronage dividend shall be issued in a certificate of interest which under a revolving fund approved by the Board of Directors shall be t Itc nrVk ilt are repayable from the revolving capital fund of the association, as the directors may provide. The Articles are to be amended deleting the provision in Article XIV and otherwise which requires members or patrons to sign a mar-keting contract. The proposed amendments were approved by resolution of the Board of Directors at a special meeting called on the 12th day of February, A. D., 1952 and by order of the Board of Directors the special stockholders meeting is called for the purpose of con-sidering the proposed amendments and for the transaction of other business connected with the am-endments. MABEL HARDER A large crowd enjoyed the Oak City three-a- ct play. "Oh Promise Me" presented here Saturday even-ing. The play was well directed and the parts well portrayed. A 4--H club under the leadership of Grant Nielson was organized last Monday evening. The older boys, Jimmy Andrews, Merrill An-drews, Roger Nielson, David Niel-son, and Glen Ray Grygla, are taking livestock production. The younger boys, Neal Finlinson, John-ny Andrews, Kenneth Lovell, Jay Grygla, and LaVell Bradfield are taking tractor maintenance. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Roper are the proud parents of a baby girl born Saturday, Feb. 23 in the Delta hosiptial. John Evans was honored Satur-day on the occasion of his 74th birthday by a visit from his child-ren. Coming for the day were Mr. and Mrs. Will Whiting and Mr. and Mrs. Christensen of Mapleton; Mr. and Mrs. Rod Martin and son of Genola; Mr. and Mrs. Bus Shields and children of Delta; Mr. land Mrs. Lloyd Evans and children of Spanish Fork and George Evans. All brought lovely gifts for their father. Gene Dutson flew down from Provo to spend three days last week with his folks. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard drove to Salt Lake City Friday to spend the week end with their children. Several Leamington people at-tended the MIA Maid and Explor-er Rose Prom held in 'Sutherland last Thursday. Arlynn Finlinson and Janet Nielson represented the Leamington group.The entire group participated in a number on the floor show.
