Ronald Wiikins, son 6 Mr. and Mrs. Heber Wiikins, is home on a 25-d- furlough from a base in California. His twin brother, Donald, is in Alaska serving his overseas duty. At the physical check-u- p before being shipped out, it was found Ronald had a minor defect that prohibited his being shipped with the group in which ' he trained. This is te first time in their lives that the twins have been separated for any length of time. Monday afternoon, Mrs. Sarah Nielson and Mrs. Goldie Miller vis-ited the club girls and dem-onstrated some points in sewing. The club met with their leader, Mrs. Ethel Skeem. Mr. and Mrs. Norval Christen-se- n and Mr. and Mrs. Albert John-son spent the last week end in the west mountains fishing. They saw plenty of water 'floods. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skeem went to Salt Lake to attend a family reunion. William Bishop spent the last week in Oasis but returned to Salt Lake on account of hay fever. LyiJiidvl BY MAHY JOHNSON Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielson and daughters visited in Enterprise for several days with Billy's parents. Mrs. Alta Thomas and children of Magna spent the week here with her mother Mrs. Mary Smith. Jim was home over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson were in Salt Lake for three days visiting Mrs. Thompson's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Vest of Mil-for- d were here for a short visit with their children, Edith, Sam, and Cornell and families. Mr. and Mrs. John Dutson were happy to have their son, Ballard, and wife from Bluffdale for an over night stay Wednesday. Tuesday the MIA sponsored a street meeting conducted by Elder Frances Dean, and Nephi Anderson and Bruce Lovell of Oak City. A large crowd enjoyed the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wiikins and daughters, Enly and Linda are vac-ationing in San Diego, Cal., with their son, Ray, who is scheduled for overseas duty anytime. Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson and Mr. and Mrs Bob Nielson returned from a short trip into Idaho, where they attended the wedding recep-tion of Marilyn's sister LaJune. Clair Schoelburg returned with them for a visit with Marilyn and Bob. ' Mr. and Mrs. Bill Turner and girls spent Monday in Provo visit-ing their daughter, Myrna and fam ily. Mrs. Otto Steinbach of Bountiful was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Freer over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Maxwell were here with LaRae's folks Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greathouse. Mrs. Maurine Miller and child-ren drove up from Milford Monday for several days visit with the J.A. Banks. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sheriff and family attended the Sheriff family reunion in Provo canyon where six-ty members of the family met. DeLong Banks came down Sun-day to get his family who have been visiting here and Leaming-ton the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Walker of Orem came down and stayed over night with Helen's grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Wiley. Mrs. Wiley went on to Milford with the Walkers for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kin-ros- e. Lanny Wiley went along al-- 1 so. Mrs. Lucille Johnson , JoAnn and George are visiting in Los Angeles with Lucille's sister, Mrs. Georgia Benson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jim McCardell of Tooele were here for a day's visit with Jim's sister, Mrs. C. E. Freer and Mr. Freer. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes are in Provo. Mr. Hayes is looking for employment. Mrs. Ruth Nielson and daughter Susie went to Provo Friday Susie is having eye trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Homer F. Robison of Fillmore were here Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Anita Talbot and family. They were here for the naming of Deborah Lynn, baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tal-bot. The baby son ot Bp. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse received the name of Gregory John and the name of Dianne was given the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Morse. Mrs. Bonnie Peart and little dau-ghter of Tooele, Mrs. Martha Mar-tin and son of Genola and Mrs. Lydia Evans of Leamington spent the afternoon with Mrs. Nola Great house. Mrs. Mary Johnson and Mrs. Mina Overson were in Sutherland Thursday where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson of Los Ang-eles. Effie has been back to New York where she crossed over into Canada for a visit with her son, Norman, who is a missionary there. Bill met her in Salt Lake where they visited his folks Tuesday. On Wednesday they camj to Suther-land for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson and family. They left 'for home on Friday. Fireside Chat was held at the home of Dee Nielson . Richard Christensen of Oak City was here and told of his experiences in the armed forces. Punch and cookies was served to seventeen young people. Oasis Mr La Veda Bishop Mr. and Mrs. Tom Moore from Oakland, Cal., visited in Deseret and Oasis with relatives and fri-ends a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stubbert from Ruth Nevada, visited a few days last week with relatives in Oasis. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Harmes and son, Carl Huff, from Salt Lake Mr. and Mrs. John Fitzpatrick and little daughter and George Johns from Richland, Wash., Clarie Huff from Oak Ridge, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Brown from Salt Lake were here last week because of the death of Mrs. Hannah Huff, whose funeral was held last Thurs-day morning in the Deseret ward chapel. Earl Stanworth returned home Saturday evening after having been hospitalized in the Utah Val-ley hospital because of an infec-tion which put him in a serious condition for a few days. He is much improved . We are glad to report. Last Friday the women of the ward took scrub bucket and brush and went to the church to clean up after the new make up job which is finally about completed. A good crowd was out and the place fairly shines. Services were held last Sunday and a good number of members were in attendance. It was good to meet again after a month of vacation. Next Sunday will be Ward Con-ference so the Bishopric invited invites all the members o'f the ward to 'be out. The Sunday School was reorgani-zed the last Sunday in June, with Berdell Memmott being appointed as superintendent and Leland Wil-liams and Jack Willoughby assist-ants. The retiring officers were Edwin Skeem, Deon Gillen and Ray Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Fon Hawley, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sampson, Bob Carling and Louise Bishop went to Beaver Canyon and Puffers' lake last Wed nesday. They caught a lot of fish and came home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Cahoon of Logan visited in Deseret and Oas-is from Thursday until Sunday. They took their daughter, Carolyn, back with them. She has been here for the past 2 or 3 weeks. Mr. and Mrs. J. Val Styler, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Farr and Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Gillen attended the Black family reunion which was held in t Park in Salt Lake the latter part of July. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Farr 'and Mrs. J. Val Styler went on to Logan and attended a session in the temple. They also visited in Boun-tiful with Mr. and Mrs.' Arlyn Sty-ler. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Ide from Price visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Day and Mr. and Mrs. Don Day on Monday. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sher-iff were happy to have Mrs. Sher-iff's two brothers and their wives. Merl Porter of North Salt Lake and Leon of Murray. Doris, daugh-ter of Merl who has been here the past week with Miss Gwen Sheriff returned home with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Sherm Little came down from Provo for a Sunday vis-it. They took Donna's sister's Sybil and Nona back with them. The Primary were in charge of the Sunday evening services. Pres. Ruth Bowers was in charge. Talks were given by Margie Greathouse, Eleanor Nielson, Rayola Turner, Hazel Sheriff, and Scripture read-ing was gien by Mary Freer and Mary Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ashby and boys of Victorville, Cal., were here for a visit with the Roy Nielson family. Ralph, who is with the Air Force will be sent to Korea next month. Miss Roberta Nielson arrived home Sunday after spending the summer in Englewood, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Dutson were Nephi visitors Friday. Deseret LUCILLE SAMPSON Mr. Von Black and daughter, Ila Mae, from Ontario, Cal., are visiting in Deseret a few days. Burton and Gene Cahoon, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cahoon of Las Vegas, Nev., are visiting theif grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Black spent Sunday visiting in Bountiful, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Black and son from Tooele and Mrs. Pheo.be Wiliams from Idaho spent the past week end visiting in Deseret. Mrs. Mary Anderson is visiting in Los Angeles, Cal., with Mr. and Mrs. Leone Croft. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webb and Mr. and Mrs. Clive Black spent Saturday at Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Scott from Salt Lake are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Western. Mrs.. Winona Dutson and son, Mrs. Arprilla Scow and son spent Monday in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Fon Hawley of Oasis, Bob Carling and Louise Bis-hop and Mr. and Mrs. James Samp son spent a few days fishing in Beaver mountains. The blessing of five infants took place Sunday in' Sacrament test-imony meeting. They were Maria Dewsnup, small daughter o'f Mr. and Mrs. LaMarr Dewsnup and Lane Phillip Eliason, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Eliason , Steven Lane Kelly , small son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly, Duane Reed Pet-ersen, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Petersen and Wilford Neal, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Munster. Mr. and Mrs. King Hinckley and family from San Francisco, Calif., visited a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Eliason. Sydney, Landa, and Deanna Stratton from Tooele, are visiting with Mrs. Vilate Maxfield. Mrs. Darrel Allred left Friday for Texas, where she will join her husband, who is stationed there with the Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Winfield and family are spending a few weeks in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Sivell Smith from Grace, Idaho, visited Tuesday and Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fawn Western and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Smith from Grace, Idaho flew to Delta Thursday and spent until Sunday at the Western home. Members of the 4-- club and their leaders have been taking turns giving demonstrations on home making in their meet-ings. Leaders Marjorie Riding and Lila Mae Sampson have given de-monstrations on scrapbook making and bed making. Ila Rae Taylor, a members has given her lesson. The other girls will have their turns soon. The club had 100 attendance to the Oak Creek En-campment where they took second place on the program. They are working on articles for the fair. The Eight Cookies 4-- Club met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Cora Harris, Monday. They worked on their aprons and made plans for their entries in the fair.
