Show - Oak City - Mae H. Shipley Relie'J Society conference was held Sunday evening. Pres. Bessie Sheriff presided and the Oak City Singing Mothers furnished the mus ic. Mrs. Pearl Snow, counselor of the stake presidency was present and spoke. The theme "Peace I Leave With You" was carried thru in talks, readings and songs. Fireside Chat was held Sunday evening at the home of James Anderson. An-derson. Miss Ruth Hansen visited and told her missionary experiences. experien-ces. Saturday evening a lovely wedding wed-ding dance was held for Mr. and Mrs. Don Schmutz. Refreshments were served to the dancers and friends present. They will make their home at St. George. The MIA held a carnival dance Tuesday evening. A one act play preceded the dance. Foods and can dy were sold at the lovely booths arranged by the MIA people. The carnival toys and gadgets and noises noi-ses held the Hallowe'en spirit thru the dance. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Anderson and family , Mr. Clisbee Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lovell, and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ozlow Niel son and family, Mr. and Mrs. En-nis En-nis Alldredge and family, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pratt and sans, and Wendell Dutson and pals were Oak City visitors for the deer hunt. A lovely shower was given Saturday Sat-urday evennig, Oct. 20, for Mr. and Mrs. Al Vaaldingerbroek, whose marriage was a recent event. The bride is the former Miss Verona Christensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Christensen of Oak City . Present were many and a large crowd attended. A short pro gram was given. The bride and bridegroom talked, and Mr. Vaaldingerbroek Vaald-ingerbroek furnished accordion music. The young couple are making mak-ing a home in Salt Lake City, where Mr. Vaaldingerbroek is stationed. sta-tioned. Pfc. Reece Finlinson has been on furlough the past 10 days visiting vis-iting friends and relatives here. He is stationed at Fort Riley, Kan. Mrs. Clara Talbot is visiting in Clearfield. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Justesen visited vis-ited from Ririe Idaho with Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Justesen. |
