Show MILLARD COUNTY CHRONICLE Delia, Utah, Thurs., Aug. 13, 1353 Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bunker re-turned Tuesday aiter a trip to Vernal where they attended the reunion of the Christian Olsen family association. Christian Olsen was the maternal grandfather of Mrs. Bunker. Besides visiting with numerous relatives in Vernal they enjoyed a brief visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Koiter, former residents of Delta. Abraham Ladies harden CBsali Meet The ladies of Abraham met at the home of Mrs. Billie Berry Tuesday-- August 1st to organize the Garden Club. Mrs. Beth Anderson and Mrs. Etta Tullis demonstrated flower arrangements and 'explain-ed the requirements for entering the Flower Show. Officers elected for the Garden Club were President, Margaret Franklin, vice president, Eva Tay-lor, secretary, Phyllis Johnson. Members present were Leah Reid Reva Bliss, Jo Ann Moody, Eva Taylor Eleanor Murray, Lucille Deem, Edith Dennison, Billie Berry, and Phyllis Johnson. Allied a former graduate of the Hinckley high school and now attending the BYU at Provo, has been elected to the honor roll in the upper division work for the spring quarter, 1950. To achieve this a student must have completed 16 or more hours of "A" grade work during the quarter for which he is listed. Evan is the son of Mr .and Mrs. Leigh R. Allred, formerly of Deser-e- t and now of Provo. beautiful. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Banks and family arrived Wednesday for a three-week- s visit with relatives and friends in Utah. They live in New Holland, Penn. Mrs. Irving Nielson returned on Sunday from the Payson hospital where she underwent an appen-dectomy Tuesday. This is the third operation of this kind in the Nielson family this summer, Hope they may have smooth sailing how. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Lambright and family have moved to TOD Park where Mr. Lambright has employ-ment. Four Bee Hive girls, Vona Lou Greathouse, Cheryl Greathouse, Emogene Nielson and Gwen Sher-rif- f, with Colleen Johnson, joined others of the stake on the trip to Lehman Cave Monday. The Pee Wee ball team won the first half of season's games with out a loss, but were defeated by Sutherland Tuesday. The seniors won over Scipio on the home dia-mond Saturday. It was their first win from them since the league was formed three years ago. Prov-ed to be a very interesting game. Mrs. Adelia Coleman was very happy to have her brother, C. Man gum from Roy, Utah, here for a LYNN St YL BY MATTY JOHNSON Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nielson and Kathlyn drove to Grand Canyon Friday and spent the weekend with their daughters, Colleen and Roberta, who are employed there. Colleen returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse drove to Salt Lake and spent the day Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins and daughters were Richfield visitors Saturday and Sunday. They visited their daughter, Barbara and family-- Mrs. Betty Rosenbaum has had her brother and family here the past week. They are from Oregon. Mrs. Lucille Johnson's mother has been here with her for the week. She returned to Cedar City Sunday. Last Tuesday Alma D. Hayes en-tered the LDS hospital in Salt Lake with infection in the right arm. Thursday Mrs. Hayes and her daughters drove to Salt Lake to visit him. Mrs. Margie Greathouse returned home after a week's visit with her daughter, Colleen, in South Dakota. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Eliza Farnsworth. They visited Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills and say its very few days visit. The J. A. Banks home was the scene of a family dinner Sunday which was served on tables out on the lawn under the trees. Of the Banks family there were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen, Rex, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Banks and chil-dren, Mrs. Maurine Miller and chil-dren, Miss Gladys Banks.From Salt Lake City came Mrs. Banks' broth-er, Mr. and Mrs. James DeLong, their son, Clair and wife and dau-ghter, Mr. and Mrs. Fosh Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy and family of Delta. There were twen-ty eight in all. They enjoyed visit-ing for the afternoon following the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Phill Nielson and Mrs. Eleanor Nielson were Spanish ' Fork and Payson visitors Monday. The Primary was in charge of the Sunday evening program in church. Mrs. Eleanor Nielson took charge in the absence of Mrs. Ruth Bowers. The music was presented by the children and the teachers, Inez Wiley, Hazel Sheriff, Mary Johnson, Betty Nielson, Mary Freer and Margie Greathouse. Oali ilty Mae H. Shipley Sunday evening services were given by the Primary. Pres. Irene Talbot was in charge. Poems and songs were given by teachers and officers of the Primary. It was a good program. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Anderson were surprised Sunday by having her parents from Salt Lake, also three brothers and their families visit them. Their little daughter was blessed that day. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Strong and son visited in Oak City with her sisters, Ilene Olson and Erma Niel son. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Harris spent Saturday and Sunday in Oak City. They are living in Provo. Mrs. Angeline Mecham is visit-ing with her father, John Lovell, and other relatives. Merlene Lovell spent the week-end here from school in Salt Lake. Rachel Melville and children also spent the weekend here. Announcements of the arrival of a baby boy born to Ed and Theil Anderson Roberts of Pleasant Grove were received in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Onzlo Nielson and children spent the past week in Oak City visiting relatives and ful presents were given. Miss Olson was married to Lt. Frank Cope on Thursday, August 3 at the Manti temple. Mrs. Edna Christensen and son Joe, are spending this week visit-ing in Salt Lake with her daugh-ter, Ila. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christensen attended a reunion in Springville last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs' Parley Elder and Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Justesen at-- I tended a Nielson reunion in Salt Lake City this weekend. Glen and Grant Harris are in the 145 field artillery of the Nat-ional Guard, which is to be in-ducted by Sept. 3. They reported at Nephi August 7 and will be in training three nights a week dur-ing August. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson and family and Mr.-- and Mrs. Mel-vi- n Anderson and family, also Mrs. Caddie Anderson and Mrs. Blan-char- d visited at Salina Sunday. A wedding dance will be given Monday August 14 for Mr. and Mrs. Russell Styler at Oak City hall. friends. Also here were Mr. and Mrs. Carwin Nielson and children. T. C. Lyman was an Oak City visitor last week. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Anderson spent Saturday and Sunday at Ephraim, Utah. A highlight for the children and parents was the Primary festival August 3, consisting of a children's parade, a program by the children, representing Hawaii, Indians, Scan danavian and British Isles. Exhib-its of summer work was displayed. Dixie Dutson reigned as queen of the festival, her attendants were Claudia Jacobson and Dorothy Ro-per. Stake president, Margaret Ro-per, crowned the queen and at-tendants. Much praise was given the Primary for this fine festival. Mrs. Kathleen Anderton and son from Richfield, visited for a few days. Mrs. E. M. Jacobson was in Salt Lake with her daughter, Arvilla, last week. Also Mrs. Peter Nielson visited with her son, Bryce, and family in Salt Lake. A shower and party was given at the home of Sylvia Harris on the lawn, for Janicce Olson Tues-day evening. A good time was en-joyed by a large crowd of friends and relatives. Many lovely and use LI. Floyd Bishop, based with the air force in Greenland for the past three months, telephoned Tues-day morning to his wife, Mrs. ita-mo- Bishop. The call came from Halifax, Nova Scotia, where Lt. Bishop was on a flight. As there are no telephone communications between the states and Green-land he took the opportunity to call home at Halifax. All was well, both with Lt. Bishop and his fam-ily in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Morley drove to Moroni Sunday, and attended the Nelson family reunion in Echo canyon. Children in today's Who's Who are Dee Robison, of Fillmore, and Mrs. Ava Starley, wife of W. J. Starley, of Delta. Mr. Robison is a son of Mrs. Delia Robison, is un-married, and still lives in Fillmore. Mrs. Starley is a daughter and old-est child of Dan T. Stevens, of Fill-more. Her home has been in Delta since 1917, when Mr. Starley mov-ed here to open D. Stev-ens store. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hogan, of Cal-ient- e, Nev., are announcing tne birth of a son, born July 22. The mother is the former Lois Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Miller, of Delta. Mrs. M iller return ed to Delta Monday from a visit in Caliente with her daughter and new grandchild. Cpl. Grant Evans returned to his base at Sacramento, Cal 0n Monday, after a furloVh spent in Delta with his parents Mr. and Mrs. David Evans.
