Show Oasis Mrs La Veda Bishop Monday evening the Primary children, under the direction of President Clare Peterson, and her staff, held a lovely festival. The program was very good, and a large audience enjoyed it. The children were dressed in colorful costumes to represent the children and people of the British Isles, Scandinavia, Hawaiian Islands and the Indians. Miss Elaine Stewart, Ronald Peterson Pet-erson and Gwen Williams were the readers. Songs and dances and stories were well given. The little blond Indians with their war dance and Indian ponies just about stole the show. Little floats decorated to represent re-present the different countries were very cleverly made and added ad-ded greatly to the program. A bazaar was the next attract-y attract-y ion. The fish pond drew a large number of angles and was very amusing to the children. Ice cream, root beer, pop corn balls, candy and cookies, were sold to eager buyers. Many lovely articles art-icles were displayed attractively and found a ready market. All in all it was an outstanding event and demonstrated the work and accomplishments of the summer sum-mer Primary. Mrs. Adrian Hansen, Mrs. Louie Black and Mrs. Clarrisa Blake representing re-presenting the stake board, were present. Mrs. Blanche Bond and children from Salt Lake City are visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. David Dav-id Nichols. of this community about 20 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Skeem and son, Calvin drove to Salt Lake City last Saturday coming back the same day. Mrs. Jaunette Boone and son, from Portland, arrived in Oasis Monday to visit her mother, Mrs. A. P. Anderson and family. Inez Ann Kelly accompanied the Lee Davis - family on a trip to the canyons in southern Utah. They left Sunday morning and returned home Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Robinson returned re-turned home last Wednesday after af-ter a ten day trip. They spent two days in Yellowstone Park and went up thru Wyoming and Montana and to Walla Walla, Wash, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Le-and Le-and Peterson and family and were introduced to Blaine's new granddaughter grand-daughter Mary Lynn. The party stopped at Missoula, Montana where they found Elder Blaine Wilson and spent a while visiting with him. He was surprised surpris-ed to say the least and greeted them with the Millard County Chro nicle in his hand. The paper was only two weeks old but he was enjoying the news from home Mrs. Biah Sjostrom talked by telephone to her children, Saturday Satur-day evening. Virgie Murray in Sacramento, Sac-ramento, Cal., and then Norman who is out in Colorado. The Beehive girls, MIA Maids, Junior Gleanors, and their teachers and officers of the YWMIA met at the reservoir last Thursday afternoon after-noon and had a weinie roast. Mrs. Deon Gillen returned home from the hospital last Tuesday bringing her new baby girl, Janice, to join the family group. Mrs. Leonard Adams got home from the hospital Saturday with her new baby son, Gary. Mrs. Hilda Gillen went to Salt Lake Monday with her children, Mr. and Mrs. .Eldon Cowley from Meadow. Little Bevery Swensen went along to see her mother, who is up there. Mr. and Mrs. Don Day were in Salt Lake City Friday - Saturday, and Sunday for medical care. Little Miss Mizman from Spanish Fork arrived Sunday to spend a week with Miss Gloria Day. Mrs. Carolyn Dillenbeck from Receda, Cal. is visiting this week with friends in Oasis. She is staying stay-ing with Mrs. Betsy Skeem. Mrs. Dillenbeck was a resident |
