Show East Millard Civic Chorus Merits Praise Palomar vas well filled last Thursday night when the East Millard Civic chorus presented their concert. A west Millard audience audi-ence felt well repaid for their attendance at-tendance for the concert was excellent ex-cellent entertainment. Their program was well-rounded with songs that appealed to all. Hearty applause was given each number and at the end of the harmonious "By the Light of the Silvery Moon," an encore was demanded. de-manded. There were numbers by the ladies, men and entire group. Mrs. Roger Honeyman was the lovely soprano soloist who sang the "Bell Song," from Lakme. Mrs. Golden P. Wright gave an interesting inter-esting reading, "Scent of Roses." Thomas Whatcott and Mrs. Merle Hone directed the singers, and Belva Day and Edith Callister were accompanists. Eldred Robison business manager of the group, spoke briefly and introduced Thad Johnson, who was master of ceremonies cere-monies for the evening. Delta JayCees and Desert Sentinels Senti-nels sponsored the appearance here of the 60-voice mixed chorus. Rulon Callister, Sentinel president, welcomed the visitors, and at the end of their program voiced the appreciation felt by all. |
