Peterson of Peterson 5 Motor Company announced today. 4 There are new lines in the sil-j sil-j houette which give the new Ply-r Ply-r mouth a longer, lower more stream lined appearance. The changes are readily apparent whether from the front, rear, or side. I The New Plymouths may be seen here at Peterson Motor Com-0 Com-0 ' pany, Delta Utah,. Rear fenders, which are bolted Jl on for economical removal in case of repairs are necessary, have been j restyled and lengthened. A larg-, larg-, er rear window on club coupes and four-door sedans, slightly grea til ter over'-all width, and alterations j on rear deck provide a longer, heavier, hea-vier, road-hugging appearance for all models. The grill has been simplified and made more massive. It consists of two large horizontal bars with a curved-down top member mem-ber and a vertical bar at the center. cen-ter. Above the grille the Plymouth nameplate appears in larger block letters, and a bigger, more colorful color-ful medallion has been placed over ov-er the nameplate. Decrlbd ai "Packed with val ue and ready to prove it", the new Plymouth was characterized by S. D. Eddlns, president of Plymouth, as "The greatest car value we have ever offered the public." "When we speak of value," Eddlns Ed-dlns said, "we mean that we have combined beauty with sensible sty ling, that we have achieved big-car big-car performance with small-car economy, ec-onomy, and that the mechanical excellence of which we have always al-ways been proud has maintained its high level." The front and rear tread have been increased, a factor which increases in-creases stability, eases tire loading load-ing stress of curves, and enhances the car's general appearance. 32 larger than on previous models, the new rear window increases visibility visibil-ity and its lines blend in to the car's new streamlined motif. The window is set in a newly designed locking rubber seal. There are larger bumpers on both front and rear. In addition to providing pro-viding greater protection for the grille, rear deck and fenders, the bumpers add materially to the gen eral appearance of massiveness. The theme of simplicity which has been carried out in the medallion med-allion and name plate on the front has been continued in the ornamentation ornam-entation of the rear deck. The . block-letter name plate, the license : plate light ornament, the license plate recess, and the T-shaped lug gage compartment handle are styled sty-led to accent the car's low, sleek - linei. Combination tail light! and stop lights are set into each rear fender. The redesigned instrument panel provides new backgrounds of trans parent gunmetal on spun aluminum alumin-um for the gauge dials, speedmeter radio dial, and clock. The gunmelt-al gunmelt-al finish is also used on the radio grille screen. There are larger rotary ro-tary switch knobs which are easier to operate. Feattures for performance, comfort com-fort and safety which were previously previ-ously introduced in the Plymouth line have been retained. The car has characteristic interior roominess, roomin-ess, ample head and leg room, and wide, deep chair-height seats. The six cylinder, 97-hp engine has a 7 to 1 compression ratio. The combination ignition and starter switch, automatic electric choke, Super-cushion tires, safe-guard hydraulic hy-draulic brakes and safety - rim wheels are among the "high-priced car" features contained in the new Plymouth. The new Plymouth line includes nine automobiles in the Special De Luxe and DeLuxe groups. Special DeLuxe models are the four door sedan, the club coupe, the station wagon, and the convertible club Coupe. The DeLuxe group consists of the four-door sedan, club coupe two-door sedan, three passenger coupe, and the all metal Suburban. Subur-ban. The cars are available in 9 colors. In addition, there are special spec-ial colors available for the Suburban, Subur-ban, the Station Wagon, and the convertible club coupe. ADVERTISEMENT |
