Petersen of Delta, for a two year term, as a member to te Utah Crop 'Improve-ment Assn. Val J. Styler of Oasis has repre-sented this area in the association for the past two terms and has done a splendid job. This area comprises Millard, Bea evr, Iron and Washington counties. All certified seed growers, produc-ing all types of seeds and are all members of the Utah Crop Improve ment and Rex Nielson, his assist-ant were here to discuss phases of Crop Improvement work. Dis-cussions were very interesting. The meeting was conducted by Rodney G. Rickenbach, county ag-ricultural agent. Beaver Upsets Hinckley, 55-2- 9 Despite high hopes, the Mustangs, 55 - 29 de-feat were submerged by a in the first leagie game ot the season against a sure - shot Beaver five. Jumping off to a fast start, the Beaver team began the scoring and maintained their lead through out the game, having a 15-- 7 ad-vantage at the end of the first period, and topping the Mustangs 26-1- 7 as the half rolled around. With the Beaver team hot on the basket, they couldn't be stop-ped as they chalked up thirteen counters to Hinckley's one in the first two minutes following the half. During this quarter they pul-led far into the lead, leaving the Mustangs trailing by a 49-2- 2 mar-gi- n. A good fight was shown in the last quarter , as the Musttangs made seven points to the Beavers six, with the plucky Hinckley five maintaining spirit to the last. Ashworth of Beaver topped the scorers for 17 points, with Moody "of Hinckley being high man for the home team, hitting 10 points for the losers. Marshall of Beaver hit 13 points to be second high man on the floor.
