Show I Oscar L Sims Weds Girl From San Antonio, Tex. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Glass of San Antonio, announce the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Lucia Alice Cheyney, to Oscar Lawrence Sims son of Mrs. Estella Rawlinson of Boulder City, Nevada. The bride-elect is a junior at Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos but attended Trinity in her freshman nd sophomore years. She is a graduate of San Marcos Academy. While at Trinity, she was la member of the Canterbury Canter-bury club and of the Mary Catherine Cather-ine Hall Fellowship. Miss Cheyney is the daughter of the late E. Ralph Cheyney Poet Laureate of Pennsylvania and the granddaughter of William Trent, i former professor of English at Col- ! umbia Uuiversity. Her mother is a i literary consultant and is known j professionally as Dr. Lucia Trent. ! At San Marcos Miss Cheyney is a member of the Canterbury Club Debate Squad, English Club and Sociology Club. She has taken heavy roles in several college plays and has participated in a number ' of debates and other- forensic e- vents. She has had poetry published in publications throughout the coun try and recently one of her poems was included in the college anthology anthol-ogy for poetry. Also, one of her feature articles was printed under . a pen name. ! Sims is a senior at Trinity and i is majoring in journalism. He is , 1 a graduate of White Pine high school at Baker Nevada. He is editor in chief of the Trinitonian . land has held ithe positions of managing editor circulation manager man-ager and reporter. At present, Sinis is treasurer of the Delta Gam- ma Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta a national writer's society, and of j ; the Intenational Relations Club of Trinity and holds membership in the Trinity University Radio Forum J ! Board the Los Campeadores, the I Student Christian Association, and j, the Chistian Service Fellowship, the i Press Club and the Legislative As- ' sembly. He has held the position of presi-' presi-' dent of the Press Club, secretary 'and treasurer of the International " Relations Club treasurer of the j? Student Christian Association and 3 was elected to Who's Who in Ameri can Colleges. (1 Sims also represented Trinity at the Associated Collegiate Press con ference in Columbus, Ohio in 1948 7j and at the Southwest convention j of International Relations clubs at E the University of Arkansas in 1947.
