I have found those who travel in pursuit of better neighbors never find them. Se-lcctcd. Se-lcctcd. Miss Colleen Nielson and Gladys Banks were weekend visitors this week. They are both "attending college at Cedar City. Mr. and jnrs. Frank Gerrick returned re-turned from Provo this week where they visited their son. They are now spending a few days in Mil-ford Mil-ford visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Wier of Crestline, visited here with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allen Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Overson and baby daughter have moyed to Mills where Fay is working.. Myron Vest came up from Mil-ford Mil-ford for a few days and took Mrs. Vest back with him. Bobby Ivie of Provo is visitine Learning visited Monday with Mrs. May Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roe and son of Eureka spent Sunday visiting visit-ing with Mr .and Mrs. Bob Pendray Mrs. Hattie Ivie had her tonsils removed at the Delta hospital and is home now recuperation. Mrs. Gle'nna Vest and baby daughter, dau-ghter, Cynthia, are visiting in Provo Pro-vo with her sister, Mrs. Beryl Nielson. Those who participated in the floor show were La Rae Greathouse, Connie Johnson, Margaret Smith, Barbara and Marilyn Hayes, Jan-eane Jan-eane Simpson, Crystal Nielson and Molly Mills. Robert Angel, Leo Lake, Jay Simpson, Roy Wilkins, Johnny Whatcott, Harold Ivie, Jay Nielson,. Ray Wilkins and Connie Johnson sang the Gleaner song, and Harry McCardell played the piano accompaniment. The hall was beautifull decorated decorat-ed in shades of blue and trimmed with white and gold stars. Loren Kendrick's orchestra furnished the music. After the dance a group of boys and girls went out to La Rae Greathouse's and enjoyed a delicious delic-ious luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wilcox are spending a few days in Richfield visiting relatives. Saturday evening Rachel Simpson, Simp-son, Jay and Janeane and Neil Fernley enjoyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson. Mrs. Frances Hayes and daughter daugh-ter Linda June, are spnding a few days in Provo with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allen. Miss Clorean Johnson, who has been in Los Angeles for the winter, is home visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson. She will return to California Saturday. Mrs. Alma Banks and little Rex Abegglen went to Milford to see her grandson, Freddie Miller. He is slowly recovering from his burns. Mrs. Neva Harvey and children of Salt Lake, visited here Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Ivie. Monday these was a Garden Club meeting hre with Mrs. Mamie Freer taking charge to discuss the beautification of the cemetery and other business. Mrs. Hazel Sheriff and Velda went to Salt Lake for a few days. Bishop and Mrs. Clead Nielson went to Salt Lake Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Minnie Ashby of Fillmore spent Sunday and Monday here visiting her daughter, Mrs. Clead Nielson. Mrs. and Mr. Max Beer and child ren of American Fork visited here over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sherriff. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson and family went to Sutherland and visited with relatives. Mr. Kurt Roper came down from Provo and visited his family and enjoyed the Gold and Green ball. Mrs. Kay Atkins and Eloise are in Salt Lake over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Junius Anderson and smal daughter, Ellen Gay are here visiting her aprents, Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam Coleman. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Freer went to Provo and returned with a new Hudson. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson will return home to Sutherland after having spent the winter in Los Angeles An-geles with her daughter. Tilman Johnson and Kent Nielson Niel-son went to Logan and saw Floyd Roundy and talked with him and learned that little Florean Roundy was just recovering from appendix. Dee Nielson made his first trip to Salt Lake and visited with his sister, Mrs. Leslie Haycock, who showed him a good time. I Parley Overson and mother of here with Mr. and Mrs. Irving Nielson. Wallace Allen, who is now working work-ing in Provo, came home Sunday. Mrs. Allen and Ruby will join him Wednesday and make their home there. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith, Son Jimmie and his wife, Virginia, went to Salt Lake City Sunday. Mrs. Joe Easterbrook and new baby daughter and Flo-Marie, who have been visiting here returned home with them. Mrs. Jewel Travis went to Salt Lake Thursday for a few days. Mrs. Eleanor Nielson, who has been very ill, is now home and is improving slowly. Bishop Nielson spent a few days in Salt Lake City for Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hagen went to Salt Lake Sunday on Conference. Con-ference. Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Roper spent Sunday in Delta visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Black. Don Williams and Janeane Simp son went to Fillmore Sunday and visited Mr. and Mrs. Dern Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Williams. Saturday evening Mrs. Rachel Simpson, ' Jay, Janeane and Neil, enjoyed a very delightful dinner at the Bill Simpson home. Varley Dutson, spent Sunday in Lynndyl. He is also working in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allen and daughter, Ruby, and Don Williams were dinner guests at the Simpson home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Roper and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stewart and their daughter, Sharen Lee, of Oak City, spent Sunday here with Mrs. Bill Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills were Mil-ford Mil-ford visitors this week. Norma Sheriff and Jeanette Overson came home for the Gold and Green ball. Thy are now work-. work-. ing in Delta. Mrs. Emily Twitchell, who has been quite ill all winter, is able to be out again. It has been learned that Louise Wiley, a former resident of Lynndyl Lynn-dyl and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudger Wiley, was married in January Jan-uary to Bill Banks of Idaho. Louise is now living in Springville. The annual Gold and Green ball was given here Saturday, April 2. It was an outstanding success and was attended by a large crowd. Orlean Overson was chosen queen with Shirly Sheriff and Ruby Allen as attendants, and little Melody Mills and Janie Nielson were the flower girls; Keith Overson and Johnny Nielson were crown bearers and Robert Angel acted as king. |
