Show Mr and Mrs. Don T. Bishop returned re-turned during the week to Delta from a visit in Salt Lake City and trip through Yellowstone national nat-ional park. Their son, Max Bishop, of Salt Lake City invited them on the Grand Loop through the park, with his family, and in the new car he had. They first attended the Bishop family reunion at Glacio Park, and then left for a tour of four days. Chatter Box Dear Suzy, The Singing Mothers have started start-ed throwing their weight around, and with only a couple of practices prac-tices of do, re mi. Tuesday night a group from Deseret took what they called a shake-down cruise with 24 of the Singing Mothers loaded into Doyle Mace's truck, with Martha Mace as the driver. They came to Delta to do their tonsil exercising and explained that they brought the truck on a trial run to see how many it would hold and whether or not any of them would have to reduce. The truck stood up well under the ordeal and eo now the same bunch plans a wienie roast by the same means of transportation, leaving their various and assorted husbands home to take care of the kids. Wednesday a group of Deseret husbands called upon Doyle to have him put a stop to this driving about the countryside by truck, while the neglected men assumed the duties of baby sitters, sit-ters, without pay. The men maintain main-tain that this will develop into a bad practice whereby they will be forced to stay at home evenings eve-nings while the women gad about, whereas the men would much prefer pre-fer sitting in groups about Deseret Deser-et bragging about their seed crop. It remains to be seen just what the outcome is, but it is a sure thing that men being men will kick over the traces when it comes to baby sitting, because they do so little of it. Speaking of seed, reports are that Eddie Lyman has never had a good crop of seed on any of his farms. The reason for it is that Eddie gets so enthusiastic over the prospects that he pulls up most of his best seed to take up town and show the boys, leaving his field as though a blight had hit it and just a bunch of stripped blossoms. Louise says if he woud only thresh the seed he pulls up he would have a bumper crop every year. As it is most bf his seed is wasted because nobody believes be-lieves he has such a good crop, and nobody believes anybody has a better crop than he has. Also on the seed subject, Boots Done has only 400 acres of it this year. He says he won't make as much mortey on it as people will think. He says it takes 160 acres to keep him in beer and cigarettes, cigar-ettes, another 120 to keep his wife in shells so she can shoot snakes or whatever else invades the homestead, the government takes 119 acres for income tax, leaving him only 1 acre for expenses and incidentals. The life of the seed grower is not all it is cracked up to be, according ac-cording to Boots, and all is not gold that glitters, nor are all burrs in the bag. There are 3 schools of thought on the dance revue coming Saturday Sat-urday night. One school holds that the teachers have the most work to do teaching the kids to dance; another school says it is the kids that have all the work to do; and the third holds that the mothers have all the work to do making the costumes for the final appearance appear-ance of their little darlings. .
