Mrs. Jimmie Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith attener the funeral of Giles McDonald in Hinckley and. went to Heber where he was bur-ied. They went on to Salt Lake before returning home, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Easter-broo- Miss Margie Smith spent the weekend in Tooele with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dutson were here Saturday and Sunday. They have recently moved to Provo. Bill Simpson is now occupying the Dut-son home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson were dinner guests at the home of Bill's mother, Rachel Simpson, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Weir drove up from Reed and spent the week I Lyimilyl Mrs. Rachel Simpson Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes and son, Kenneth, daughter, Marilyn, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes, Jr., went to Lehi Saturday where they attended graveside military honors 0"WI for Mrs. Hayes' brother, Sgt. Morris Adell Fox, who was killed in action November 10, 1943 in Italy. ' Mrs. Carl Ivie was in Salt Lake ' Tuesday, as her father, Giles Mc-F-n- -l Donald, passed away in a Salt Lake hospital. Delta Carley Gunn of Los Angeles, but formerly of here was operated on as for a serious intestinal ailment. He nd with Mr. and Mrs, Wallace Allen. They spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Bud McCann. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allen had as their dinner guests, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Weir, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes and Linda. Harlan Nielson spent the week end visiting his wife and children. Mrs. Don James and four child-ren, Terry, Dee, Bruce and Chad, went to Payson where they met Mr. James, who is working in Pro-vo, and attended the Orton reunion Mrs. Rachel Simpson and Norma Majers spent Wednesday in Salt Lake City. Nancy and Carol Ann Majers spent Saturday with Linda and Cherrell Greathouse. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Roper of Oak City, also Mrs. Theo Stewart and daughter spent Monday visit-ing Mrs. Bill Simpson and Mrs. Grayson Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Roper spent Sunday visiting in Oak City. Nancy Lee Ivie enjoyed a very pleasant birthday party. Games were played and a delicious lunch was served to the boys and girls in her grade. Mrs. Mary Johnson went to Salt Lake and brought her mother home from the LDS hospital. She is now staying with Mrs. Lile Johnson. Bishop and Mrs. Clead Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greathouse went to Salt Lake for conference. Mrs. Margie Walker was also in Salt Lake from Pocatello, Idaho. Mrs. Mary Johnson received word her niece, Mrs. Gene Talbot, form-erly Gene Overson, daughter of Mrs. Nina Overson, had given birth to a baby girl in Twin Falls, Idaho. Darold Whatcott, who is attend-ing college at the BYU was home over the weekend and visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervine What-cott. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Fitzgerald have moved to Geneva, where he is employed. Mr. Fitzgerald was the banber here. Mrs. Tressa Terry spent a few days in Salt Lake. Mrs. Mary Johnson and daugh-ter, Clorean Johnson, took their Primary class up to Paul Bunyan's woodpile for an outing. They took a lunch and enjoyed a pleasant day. Gordon Shipley, Jay Coleman, Roy Best, Jay Bradfield, Billy and Blaine Nielson were the boys who enjoyed the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Overson and family of Sutherland, spent Sunday visiting Mrs. Hettie John-son and Mr. and Mrs. Lile John-son. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nielson have returned after having spent the summer in Yellowstone Park where they have cabins. Mrs. Nielson's aunt, Mrs. Nettie Dana, of Salt Lake, returned with them. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT A JOINT RESOLUTION G TO AMEND ARTICLE 1, SECTION 13 OP THE CON-STITUTION OF THE STATE OF UTAH, RELATING TO PROSE-CUTION BY INFORMATION OR INDICTMENT AND TO GRAND JURIES. Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Utah, two-thir-of all members elected to each of the two houses voting in favor thereof: Section 1. It is proposed to amend Article 1, Section 13 of the Constitution of the State of Utah to read: Section 13. Offenses heretofore required to be prosecuted by in-dictment, shall be prosecuted bv information after examination and commitment by a magistrate, un-less the examination be waived by the accused with- - the consent of the State, or by Indictment, with or without such examination and commitment. The formation of the grand jury and the powers and duties thereof shall be as pre-scribed by the Legislature. Section 2. The Secretary of State is directed to submit the proposed amendment to the elec-tors of the State of Utah at the next general election in the man-ner as provided for by Article 23, Section 1, Constitution of Utah. Section 3. If adopted by the electors of this state, this amend-ment shall take effect the first day of January, 1949. They also went to attend conference Saturday and SUMrayand Mrs. Shelby Nielson of Salt Lake City, visited over the weekend here with her sister, Mis. Ruth Nielson and his mother, Mrs. Emma Nielson. Mrs Jay Nielson has her mothei, Mrs. Bowman from Nevada, visit-ing with her and the family. Mrs. Wilmer Lovell and Mr. and Mrs John Evans went to Holden Sunday to attend the funeral ser-vices of a niece. , Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Finlinson are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rosegreen from Salt Lake. - Mr. and Mrs. Jay Quarnberg and her irnandanrents. Mr. and Mrs. M. Mr and Mrs. Gene Dutson and baby from Provo came home for the weekend to settle the deal about their home they sold in Lynndyl to Bill Simpson and to re-move the rest of their furniture. Mrs. Charles Williams spent a few days last week visiting with her daughter, Grace, and family in Tooele. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dutson spent last Thursday in Provo on busin-ess. They were also Nephi visitors on Saturday. Lenny Holmquist came from Salt Lake this weekend to run the trac-tor for his grandfather to bale hay. ' Mr. and Mrs. Emil Anderson and daughter, Bertha and husband and little daughter, went to Sutherland Sunday to spend the evening with their daughter, Wanda on her birth day. Other guests were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. June Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. .. Clark Draper. Ice cream and cake were served. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Finlinson went to Salt Lake to attend con-ference Saturday and Sunday. C. Dutson, went to Scipio Sunday to spend the day with her mother, Mrs. Rex Peterson. Grant Nielson left last week for Salt Lake City where he will at-tend the Uof U this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams and son, Dern, drove to Redmond Sunday to visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Welby Finlinson re-ceived ia long distance telephone call from their son, Dale, in Cal-ifornia, where he is serving in the mission field in the northwestern states.
