Show Thard Ward Bishopric Released . .JN , i , .,. J , , i'i; Delta Third ward, were released with a vote of thanks when the ward was dissolved at Sunday night's meeting, prior to the or ganization of the new Delta East Ward; in which Delta Third ward, is incorporated. I Lindeau Christensen, counselor, Lathel Callister, bishop, Hamilton Hamil-ton McCullough, counselor, and Edward Christensen, clerk, of the A meeting was called Sunday ' night in the Delta High School for members of the Delta third ward, and all Latter Day Saints members mem-bers living east of First West in Delta, with the Deseret Stake Presidency Pres-idency and High Council presiding. The purpose of the meeting was to explain to ward members of Delta first, second, and third wards the need of enlarging the third ward and transferring members of the first and second to the newly created cre-ated district. The meeting was informal in nature and members were asked to express their views on the proposed pro-posed change and vote was called I to decide whether all Latter Day Saints living east of First West in Delta wanted the new ward created. creat-ed. The vote was unanimous for the new ward. v Another vote was called to determine de-termine the name of the new ward, or whether or not it would remain the Third Ward. The members voted vot-ed to call the new ward Delta East Ward, and that name will be presented pre-sented to the presiding authorities for approval. This action by the assemblage brings to an end the Delta third ward, and creates the Delta East ward, which will be the largest in Deseret Stake by three members. Following the adoption of the new district and name, Stake President Presi-dent Harold R. Morris sustained E. L. Moody, as bishop, with Merlin Christensen, first counselor; Eldro Jeffery, second counselor, and Park Stapley, clerk. Bishop E. L. Moody announced that following stake precedent priesthood meeting would be held next Sunday morning morn-ing at nine thirty in the morning, Sunday school at ten thirty, and sacrament meeting at seven thirty in the Delta high school. ' Both the first ana second wards have carried on extensive building campaigns in the past and President Presi-dent Morris pointed out that the funds created would be transferred in their proportionate share to the new ward, or if individual contributions contri-butions could be identified they would be transferred to the new ward. Said President Morris, "we . want this distribution of the various vari-ous building funds to be done an a fair end equitable basis and will endeavor to see that the new ward gets its full share of the monies." Also the assets of both the first and second wards would be eval-i eval-i , uated and the percentage: turned over to the new ward according to the number of members transferred. trans-ferred. The Delta east ward will imeet in the high school until this division of funds can be arranged and a new building built. |
