Show Delta Mhlh Win Two Games Over Weekend The Delta Rabbits went on a scoring spree last Thursday night when they met the Millard Eagles and came home with a 61 to 31 victory. The first quarter ended 10 - '8. but after that the Rabbits Rab-bits piled up a comfortable lead and had enough points in the early part of the second half to have coasted through to win. At -half-time the score stood 28-19 28-19 for Delta; the third quarter ended end-ed 46 - 24; and the final score 61 - 31. All of the Delta squad saw action with alniost all of them scoring while they were in. Fullmer was high point man with 15, followed fol-lowed by Hortin with 11 and Sheriff Sher-iff with 10. Trimble was high point man for the Eagles with 12. Monday night they went to Mil-for Mil-for to play the game that was postponed when the power failed and came home with a 45 - 38 win over that team. Milford, when they played here, lead throughout the game and it was in the closing clos-ing minutes of play that Delta went ahead, so it was considered to be anybodys game when the two teams met Monday. Delta piled up an impressive 18-7 lead in. the first quarter and held a good lead throughout , the game; 25 - 12 at half-time; 31 - 26 at the third period; per-iod; and ending 45 - 38. Johnson was high point man scoring 16 points, with Fullmer making 14 and Hortin 9. Smith was high for Milford with 12 points. Delta meets Beaver Friday at Beaver and the fans are keeping their fingers crossed hoping for a win over Beaver which will tie them and necessitate a play-off to see who goes to the tournament, as Beaver lost to Milford 36 - 31 last week. A large group of fans will go to Beaver this Friday to see the 1 game, and it is rumored that their , are 125 seats saved for Delta fans. ! |
