Show Collegian Revue Shepherd and Bassett It seems rather unfortunate that the few cultural advantages ad that Salt Lake has to offer should be neglected by the great majority of University students A university university university sity should so 50 fit its students that they enjoy and appreciate life in all its aspects they ther should be equally at home listening to high- high class musicians in a concert salon as ni in loosing their voices and sobriety in the bleachers Sybella Clayton Bassett pianist and Albert Shepherd violinist performed performed per per- formed in a finished and artistic manner Wednesday evening in a joint concert in Kingsbury Hall Mrs Bassett played for her part two Preludes with intelligent precision and feeling but could have used a little more soft pedal or restraint in her accompaniment accompaniment accompaniment ac ac- ac- ac to Mr Shepherd Mr 11 Shepherds Shepherd's program was delightfully delightfully de de- chosen and included some contemporary selection that was really fetching and reminded us of no one else than Max Reger Incidentally why isn't more of Reger's Rogers given to us in these parts Mr Shepherd showed a deep maturity of feeling combined with unusual musical capabilities His His' tone was pure and his intonation clean but his unfortunate apparent self-consciousness self seemed to detract detract detract de de- de- de tract from the effectiveness of ot his playing SLOANE NIBLEY |
