Tho sinking of fourteen British merchantmen of raoro than 1C00 tons Is reported in tho weekly summary ot shipping losses lsBUc-d today. Tho official statement follows: "Arrivals, 2898; sailings 2798. "Drltlsh merchant ships Bunk by mlno or submarine, over 1C00 tons. Including ono previously, 14; under 11600 tons, 2. "British merchant ships unsuccessfully unsuc-cessfully attacked, Including four I previously, 17. 4b "British fishing vessels sunk, in- jludlng one previously, 7." Tho preceding report gave the' sinking of fifteen vessels of 1C00 tons and five under that size. In tho two earlier periods tho totnls were, respectively, twenty-eight and thirty-two. This compares with tho sinking of forty largo merchantmen I in one week nnd thirty-eight In nn- other at the height of the campaign I In April, In tho week ending April I 21, fifty-five vessels In nil were sunk. ! With ono exception, tho number of merchantmen sunk last week Is the lowest of nny week slnco tha British Inaugurated In March tho system of giving out weekly reports.
