An older brother was chopping chop-ping wood, when tho llttlo fellow unconsciously un-consciously placed his hand upon tint chopping block. Tho brother, not noticing tho hand, enmo down with tho ax, which resulted In almost entirely en-tirely cutting the hand from tho wrist, it being hold by just two cords. Dr. Cutler of Preston was called In attendance; ho gavo tho llttlo fellow an anesthetic, and succeeded In sow-' sow-' lng tho hand back In place. After-'gaining After-'gaining consciousness, llttlo Ross laBked for a drink, nnd lived only about two hours. Tho loss of blood i and sevcro shock proved too much i for him to withstand. Mr. nnd Mrs. Cherry havo tho heartfelt sympathy of ovoryono In Franklin for tho loss of their llttlo child. Tho Relief Society officers gavo a surprise party for Mr. and Mrs. A. W.
