Show BEE SPECIALISTS IN Tr WEST nepresentnUes of the V. S. Department Depart-ment of Agriculture Visits ' Utah and Idaho. Washington. D. C, Oct. 9. E. K.. Phillips, who Is tho specialist of the U. S. department of agriculture In charge of bee-keeping, Is going to the Ilocky Mountain states In the Interests Inter-ests of more honey production from that region. With the nnnounced scarcity of sugar, the Importance of the honey crop becomes more evident, evi-dent, and the department is doing what It can to foster improved methods meth-ods which will prevent winter losses, and Increase the production of next season. Working with the agricultural extension ex-tension divisions of the Utah State College of Agriculture at Logan, nnd of the University of Idaho, nt Boise, Dr. Phillips will meet the honey producers pro-ducers of tho two states to discuss with them plans for developing the bee-keeping Industry, and the management man-agement of apiaries through co-operation between the U. S. department of agriculture nnd tho state colleges. Ho expected to be In Salt Lake City on October 5 nnd C; In Twin Tnlls, Idaho, on October 12, nnd In Idaho Falls on October 13. |
