Bowen, Chorister Baugh, Miss Mary Sorensen, kindergarten kinder-garten supervisor, aud Elder J. B. Bearnson were In attendance and contributed very much to tho success of tho gathering, and all appreciated their visit. After tho usual opening exercises, tho following program was renderod: Exercise by 1st Intermediate, Mies Andrea Munk, teacher; Instrumental music, Miss Andrea Beosc: class oxer-clse, oxer-clse, Primary, Miss I.eono Houndy, teacher; an address on Sunday school r work, II. W. Ballard, Jr.; Ml 11 Mary w Sorenson told an Interesting ".tory; Chorister Bnugh gavo a solo; Supt. Bowen and Cider Bearnson each gavo a very Interesting and Instructive talk. Tho attendance was fairly good but it might have boe much "Cotter. At tho afternoon meeting, Bishop Kemp of North Logan was tho principal prin-cipal speaker. He spoko of tho necessity nec-essity of our purchasing Liberty bonds. W. O. Iloeso and Bishop Howard Itcese each occupied a ahort , time reporting conference services at Salt Lake City. I At tho session of tho Young Mon's and Young Ladles' Mutual Improvement Improve-ment associations, hold In tho evening, even-ing, tho following stako officers woro present: Dr. Calderwood, Mr. Hum phry, Miss Carlson, Mies Durham and Mr. and Mrs. Knapp. Each of tho visitors contributed to the enjoyment of tho evening by taking part. Mr. and Mrs. Knapp sang a duet, and Mrs. Knapp sang a solo. Tho Y. L. A. was roorganlzod as follows' President and counselors, counsel-ors, Mamo Hcese, Annie T. Ilecso and Leono Houndy; secretary and treasurer, treas-urer, Andrea Munk; chorister, Mary Woolf; organist, Sarah Funk; class leaders, Leone Houndy and Eugenia Mortensen; chairman of special activities, ac-tivities, JesMe S. Hooeo; librarian, Magglo Heeso. Leo Reese, Melvln Ballard and Sylvan Peterson constttuto tho presidency presi-dency of tho Y. M. A., as no changes have been made slnco last year, and as thoy aro all faithful, capablo young men they will continue to mako tho association profitable and Interesting to those who attend the meetings. Tho bishopric of Benson, Howard Heeso, M. E. Rogers and T. H. Roeso, started out last evontng on a visit to tho families of the ward, and before be-fore they aro through thoy expect to visit every family in tho ward. Tho sugar beet harvest In Benson Is on In earnest, and If flno weather continues for three woeks longer, wo think tho crop will all have been harvested. Mr. A. L. McKcnna has recently purchased a new Overland car. Miss Florence Heos, who had rnls-fortuno rnls-fortuno to break her arm nearly two Weeks ago, is still at tho hospital, but ,sho Is slowly on tho Improve. R. V. Reese and M. M. Roeso havo gono to Montana and Idaho to buy cattlo for the Salt Lake market. John Hicks was adjusting riding sugar beet pullers yesterday for T. II. Heese, R. V. Heeso and W. B. Reoso. These pullers aro expensive, but thoy do good work and aro easily managed. |
