However, wo havo had a Btrlko this weok at tho Cache Knitting Works, where ton girl employes em-ployes walked out, demanding higher high-er wages. Theso girls woro among I tho factory help and their demands seemed too unreasonable by Manager Man-ager Oscar Borkman, bo they wero denied. Early In tho season Manager Borkman went to his help nnd pro- ferred to rnlso their wages 10 per cent, and to this tho largo part of 'tho help felt that tho ralso was a generous ono. Tho foro part of tho week a demand was made by the ten girls from tho factory, that they must havo additional wages. Tho domand, coming as It did, Just ns tho orders woro being rushed, seemed to tho management to bo unjust, nnd It carried tho earmark's of tho girls trying to dlctato to tho company whnt It must do.
