Show t North Cache High School ! News Notes L ) Itlchmond, April 20. After wcek3 of hard practice and rehearsal the high school dramatic club Is presenting present-ing tho play, "Nathan Hale." It was played In Itlchmond last night and Is being presented In tho opera house at Smlthfleld tonight. Doth performances per-formances wero greeted by lnrgo and enthusiastic audiences. The play being be-ing of a patriotic nature, comes nt an opportune time for the nrouslng of patriotic feeling. Tho cast presenting pre-senting tho play consists of the following fol-lowing students: Nathan Halo Wendol Thomson. Guy Fltzroy Cardon Merrill. Lieut. Col. Knowlton Allen Hendricks. Capt. Adams. ...Jnmes Chrlstofferson. Cunningham David Merrill. Lbenczer Lebanon Harold Wood. Tom Adams Kendall Durnham. Wm. Hull Lavlllo Thomson. Jnsper Fred Hogan. Alice Adams Mildred Pond. Mistress Knowlton. .Mngglo Peterson. Angela Knowlton Ada Plowman. Window Chlckester. Eva Dcntlcy. School children, eoldlers, etc The ca3t was trained and the play given under tho direction of Miss Inez Maughan and Mr. C. I. Stoddard of tho high school faculty. Tho music for all performances was furnished furn-ished by tho high school orchestra. Detween tho acts various special selections se-lections by the orchestra, solos, quartet quar-tet selections, etc., were rendered. Of more than U3unl interest to tho high school wns tho annual debato held for the purpose of determining tho winners for tho medal offered by I Principal Anderson. Doth sides had I prepared strong argument nnd had the matter thoroughly In hand. Tho question: Resolved, that the several statcs should adopt a schedule of minimum wages for the unskilled labor, was tho proposition debated. Tho affirmative was represented by Miss Vera Hadfleld and Mr. Vvnn Hancey of the Junior class. The negative neg-ative was handled by Mr. King Hendricks Hen-dricks and Mr. Cordon Ewlng of tho Sophomores. It was one of the most keonly contested debates ever held at tho school, and both sides presented pre-sented excellent arguments In splendid splen-did style. After weighing carefully tho argument nnd dolivory, tho Judges, consisting of Messrs. C. Z. Hnrrls, Georgo G. Hendricks nnd A. A. Johnson, gave tho decision to thy Sophomores. |
