Pederson of tho U. A. C. lectured to tho ladles on British Potcs of thj 19 th Century. Especial attention was givon'to tho poem, "Intimation of Immortality" by Wadsworth. Club members present wero Mr3. Gcrtrudo Rawlins, Mrs. Gala Lewis, Mrs. Edna Gustaveson, Mrs. Mary Anderson, Mrs. Ada Van Orden, Mrs. Ida Rogers, Rog-ers, Mrs. Nell Bornhlsel, Miss Sadie Bornhlsel, and Mrs. Maud Stocks. Mr. Joseph Searaons and Mr. Charles Choato will leavo for California, Cali-fornia, Wednesday, to Join the navy. This makes six young men of Lewis-ton Lewis-ton who havo enlisted in tho navy. Mr. Earl Karron loft Lewlston Friday Fri-day with a carload of cattle, shipped by Messrs. Karren and Hendricks to Omaha. Mrs. Verda Peterson of Black Pino Is visiting in Lowlston with relatives. Mr. Wallaco Allred disposed of two carloads of oats nt Lowlston, which ho shipped In from Washington. Mrs. Maud Stocks spent over Sunday Sun-day visiting with relatives at Wellsvlllo. Mr. Lawrence Bowdon has returned return-ed from a six-month mission In California, Cali-fornia, Mr. Richard Bowdon returned from Salt Lako City last week, whero ho went to get treatment for his oyos. Mr. Bowdon was unable to enlist in tho navy on account of defectlvo eyes. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allred and children are spending tho wool: at Lowlston. Mrs. J. Harris and children of Lognn Lo-gnn spent Thursday vcsltlng with her sister, Mrs. Roso .Atkinson. Mr. Crawford of Manti Is visiting with his sister, Mrs. Frank Hougard. A mass meeting was held Tuesday evening by tho citrons to deviso somo way of getting rid of tho water which is standing on tho beet land. On account of tho land lying so level, dralnago cannot bo effected. Somo of the land is under two and threo feet of water. Messrs. Maughan and Clarence Stocks have gono to Caribou, Idaho, for tho summer, whero they will bo engaged In placer mining. Now babies arrived last week at tho homes of Mr. James Bowdcn and Lloyd Hogan.
