Show DAIRY BUILDING FOR STATE COLLEGE. With Opening of New Building Great Impetus Will Be Given Livestock Industry in Utah A committee of the Board of Trustees of the Utah Agricultural College, Honorable John Dcrn, Chairman, i.ii-t with President E. G. Peterson Thursday, March 29, to select a site for the new dairy building to be Constructed on the college campus this summer and for which the last State Legislature Legis-lature appropriated the sum of $65,000. Plans-for this building arc already under way. They indicate that when completed the dairy building will be the most modern of its kind in the West. Large, well lighted class laboratories lab-oratories are arranged for as well as ample research laboratories. New class rooms will also relieve the congestion in the present college col-lege buildings that has been caused by the rapid growth in enrollment at the institution during the past few years. The construction of this well appointed structure is in line with the recent state wide advancement advance-ment along animal husbandry lines. It will enable the College to turn out in greater numbers than heretofore dairy experts, butter makers, cheese makers, and experienced livestock men, who can go out and dcvelope this most important industry. Opportunities Op-portunities will be offered to the practical dairy farmers and cattle men of the West to do the most worth while laboratory work. The College expects to purchase pur-chase herds of choice livestock to be used to develop the herds of the State, thus raising the standard stand-ard of Utah dairy and livestock products. If present plans mature, the new dairy building will be ready for occupancy at the opening of the new school year.. |
