Show AVONJEWS Avon, July 6. Independence Day wa successfully celebrated hero. Kalute at daybreak: band selection at 9 a. m. by Paradise band. The program in tho meeting houso was ronderod as follows: Singing "Star-Spangled "Star-Spangled Banner" by choir; prayer by Bishop A. O. Jackson; "America," Paradise brass band; Declaration of Indopendenco, Georgo W. Davis; song, "Don't Bite tho Hand That's Foedlng You," Erma Olson and Oen-ova Oen-ova Pulsipher, accompanied by Es-tclla Es-tclla Summers; recitation, James Knowlcs; song, Cora Cook; reading, "Stars and Stripes," Ariel Jackson; recitation, Hyrum Holmes; quartet, "Rlso With the Lark," Olo Olsen, Jr., and company; "Tho Rod, Whlto nnd Bluo" by band; prayer. At 2 p. m. there wero raco3 of all kinds for children, for prizes, In tho Avon grove. Tho band was entertained at tho homo ot Mrs. Geo. Summers for dinner, din-ner, nnd was then convoyed to Paradise Para-dise by automobiles. Miss MIllIo Hubbard of Wlllard Is tho guest ot Mrs. Geo'. Davis. Owen Summers, Dewey Summers, Arthur Summers, Roy Jackson and Ariel Jackson went to Saltalr July C on tho Sunday school oxcurslon. H. C. Summers and O. H. Pulsipher Pulsi-pher have Just recently purchased Dodgo cars. Mr. Andreas Frodrlckson of Tro-monton Tro-monton Is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Abo Fredrlckson. Mrs. Geo. Summers and con, Ivan, motored to Ogdon on Tuesday to sea her aged father and friends. |
