An unprecedented wave of enlistments enlist-ments breaking all rec'ords In tho army, navy and marine corps Is sweeping the country. Men of conscription con-scription ago, whose numbers wero drawn far down in tho master list and who fear they may not bo called for army duty, aro crowding recruiting recruit-ing stations throughout tho nation. Tho first rush came llmmedlately after draft day, recruiting officers declare. Reports gathered by tho United Press today show the rush to colors is countrywide. In addition to men who want to make sure of seeing service, many whose numbers wero drawn well up in tho list, arj volunteering In tho hope of being able to select the branch of sorvlce with which they will fight. During the past two days 333 men have volunteered, been examined and sent to Fort Slocum for .training In New York. This Is an Increase of 50 per cent.
