Show . LABOR AND SUPPLY BUREAU SERVICE .Practically every farmer asking for help has been supplied, but If any have failed to get the men assigned as-signed to them wo will Bond others on being advised of tho failure. Wo have a number of young men be-tween be-tween fifteen and twenty years of age, who have finished their Jobs and want other work. It may bo necessary neces-sary during harvest to use thesa younger workers. Plenty of men and teams now available. Cache county has not Imported a single laborer this summer. It has been more a matter of the local employers em-ployers and employes finding each other. That has been tho work of tho bureau. Many men havo drifted into the valley to look conditions over and have been immediately placed on good Jobs. Wo havo several carpenters who want work. The following timely suggestions are given out by the publicity department depart-ment 'of the U. A. C: "Be sure that the fruits and vegetables veg-etables for drying are fresh. Cut them In halves, quarters or slices. Place In a dripper and sot In a moderately mod-erately hot oven, not sufficiently hot, however, to Bcorch or scald tho fruit or vegetables. Allow to remain In oven ono hour. Then place on racks made of flno screening, cover with mosquito netting and protect from flies and allow to remain In direct hot sun to dry thoroughly. When dry," fruits should turn more or less leather color. They should be turned often and should be brought in before be-fore sunset and never be placed out in cloudy or damp weather, when dry, put Into sacks and Lung In a dry, cool place." If men prepared to do harvest work, especially those who have no phone connections, will call In tho office occasionally, wo can find them work without delay to them, or tho Inconvenience of having to hunt them up on the part of tho employers. |
