Show JULY FOURTH (,i , PROGRAM AT I WELLSVILLE Wellsvllle, July 2. Program for tho Fourth of July celebration, to'be held at Wellsvllle, as follows: Salute of thirteen guns at daybreak. At sunrise the Stars and stripes will bo unfurled to the breezo, while tho Wellsvlllo City band renders appropriate appro-priate music. At 10 a. m. the parade will leave the city hall and parade the principal streets of the city. Immediately Im-mediately after the parade the people peo-ple will assemble In the tabernacle, where the following program will be rendered: Music by the band; prayer by Chaplain; singing, "America," by congregation; recitation, Maggie Smurthwalte; Lincoln's Address at Gettysburg by David P. Murry; vocal solo, "Star-Spangled Banner," John Bailey; speech, "Goddess of Llborty"; piano solo, Miss Katherlne Drew; speech, State Queen; oration, Joseph Qulnney; quartet, Ernest Bailey and company; benediction, Chaplain; music by the band. Goddess of Liberty, Lib-erty, Addle Allen; stato queen, Manilla Ma-nilla Maughan; Betsy Ross, Eva Pop-pleton; Pop-pleton; Uncle Sam, Wlllard Maughan; Mau-ghan; orator, Joseph Qulnney. At the close of the day's Jollifications Jolli-fications a grand ball will be given In the pavilion. Music will be furnished furn-ished by the famous Wellsvllle City - band. The citizens of Wellsvlllo ex- fJ tend a hearty invitation to all neighboring neigh-boring towns to como and make merry mer-ry with them and enjoy the hospitality hospi-tality of their beautiful little city on this great day of Independence. Mrs. Ross Parkinson and childroa have gone to Boise, Idaho, for a month. Mrs. Parkinson was accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Lon Jarvls of Hyrum. Miss Margurlto and Miss Alleen Walters of Idaho Falls entertained In honor of their llttlo cousin,, Sybil Mtmghan, of Salt Lake, tho occasion being tho llttlo lady's fifth birthday anniversary. Miss Sybil is visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. Maughan. lied and yellow roses were the decorations. A (most dainty lunch was served to tho following! fol-lowing! Misses Margurlto, Sybil and Ivene Maughan, Alleen Walters, Mabel, Gladys and Dean Wilson, Lucille Lu-cille Darley, LeMolno Maughan, Norman Nor-man and Parley Maughan. A crowd of young folks motored to the fish hatchery the first part of tho week, where they enjoyed a trout dinner. After dinner they motored mo-tored to Brlghaiu City and Utah Hot Springs. Those who enjoyed the outing were Misses Zella Stuart, Gladys Lelshman, Verna Maughan, LaRcna Jones, Manilla Maughan, Marguerlto Painter, Messrs. Elvero Lelshman, Ariel Maughan, Irvln Lelshman, Bllllo 'Garrett, Warren Lelshman, and Newel Bronchley. Mr. and Mrs. John Reynolds wont to Logan on Sunday ' with their daughter, May, who underwent an operation for tonsllltls. Several of our young folks attended attend-ed tho danco at Hyrum on Saturday rilght. Tho Wellsvllle band furnished dollghtful music tor dancing. , Miss Elva Murry and Miss Barbara Bar-bara Maughan attended a missionary party at Paradlso Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ounnell and -k danghters, Meda and Melba, of How-" How-" ell were visiting In Wellsvlllo last week, also Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gun-noil, Gun-noil, Josoph and Ariel Gunnell of Grace, Idaho. Miss Ella Maughan has gone to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, for a fow weeks. Miss Chrlstcna Garrott entertained for her sister, Miss Eleanor Garrett, at a bunillo shower, Juno 23. Bridal wreath, hearts and arrows woro beautifully beau-tifully arranged throughout tho charming homo of tho hostess' fathor, Mr. William aarrett. Tho samo Idea was also carried out In tho refreshments. refresh-ments. Miss Gamtt was tho happy recipient of many useful and beautiful beauti-ful presents, also tho best wishes of her many friends. Miss Garrett was married to Mr. Louis Nelson of Logan Lo-gan in the Salt Lake temple, Juno 27. Mr. and Mrs. Thoma3 Anderson of Salt Lake were visiting Mr. aud Mrs. W. H. Maughan last week. Miss Ivy Skeen and Mrs. May Ros-son Ros-son were the guests of Miss Barbara Maughan for tho week-end. Mrs. Wlllard Israelson and daughter, daugh-ter, Dorothy, of Ogden were visiting In Wellsvllle on Wednesday. Mrs. Farrell Johnson and little daughter, Mary Louise, of Logan were Wellsvllle visitors last week, Mrs. Lorln Haslam entertained tho Clement club June 27th. Red peonies pe-onies and snowballs were tastefully arranged on the luncheon table. Lunch was served to ten members by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Joseph, Brenchley. The club will meet with Mrs. Cora Williamson, July 11. Baby girls arrived at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. .James Parker, Mr. and Mrs. John Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Leathara. Dr. Christiansen Christian-sen must be working for tho Red Cross. Ho was In attendance at all cases. Tho Wellsvllle Sunday schools and M. I. A. aro going to Saltalr on July 6th for their annual excursion. Mr. Peter M. Maughan Is our new postmaster. The new postoffico is located on the west side of the state highway and northeast corner of Block 1G, Plat A, Wellsvllle City survey. Miss Emma Leatham, lato postmistress postmis-tress of Wellsvlllo goes to Saft Lake on July C to take a full course In millinery.
