Conferees of Senato .and Houso agreed upon tho bill today, deciding to retain tho Senate amendment, under which Colonel Roosevelt may bo authorized to raise not moro than four divisions of infantry for service in France. Tho report will bo taken up by tho House probably tomorrow and Its adoption there is expected to be followed quickly by final action lntho Senate. From Congress tho bill will go to tho Whlto House for the signature of President Wilson before It bo-comes bo-comes a law. Although the administration adminis-tration opposed attaching any volunteer volun-teer provision to tho selective draft plan, It Is generally believed tho President will sign tho measuro if it reaches the White Houso with the j Roosevelt Amendment in It. |
