Show IMPROVEMENTS AT BRIGHAM YOUNG COLLEGE ' i.csrn'a Big Normal 8chcol i Getting Ready for the Opening Arrangements are being made for extensive repairs in tho physical ed-jjnJF ed-jjnJF ucatlon-department at the Brigham Young College. Quite a largo appropriation appro-priation haB been made by the general gener-al board of church school education for this purpose. Tho swimming pool Is to bo Improved and repaired. Tho boys' dressing rooms in particular aro to bo renovated and put In a condition con-dition which Is strictly modem and up to dato. This is an improvement which thp collcgo has felt -Jtsolf entitled en-titled to for a long timo and is, therefore, doubly grateful to tho board for its generous appropriation. Tho cataloguo of tho D. Y. C. Is out and mailed to tho students and prospective students pf the college. Quite a numbor of new courses are to be given next year along tho lines of advanced normal and regular normal nor-mal work. There are to be advanced courses tn chemistry, mathematics, domestic arts, domestic science, history, his-tory, theology, English, ethics and physical education. Besides this qulto a number of additions ad-ditions are made to provide Tor Urn increase in tho number ot pupils in nil the classes. Extra sections In algebra, first year English, second year English, cooking, dressmaking, geometry, folk dancing, New Testament, Testa-ment, physical education for tho advanced ad-vanced students, and sowing. Elmer Barrett who luui been teaching school at tho ScolleM High School during tho past winter has been engaged to teach mathematics and German at tho Brigham Young University during tho coming wi'iler. Mr. Barrett has moved his family and, household effects from Scolleld and will remain in Provo until school opens this fall. Frank Harris ot the Harris Music Company has returned from a trip to his brother's ranch In the Weston hills. 'Ho reports a very pleasant trip and says the frosted condition ot. tho wheat, ho believes, baa been greatly over estimated.
