Show Rain Storm Breaks ir- Up Celebration Independence Day in Logan Not Very Successful. Fine Program and Band Concert. Tho rain Interfered considerably with tho big celebration plnnned for July Fourth. Tho (ithletic events planned or 10 o'clock had to bo postponed post-poned till 2 o'clock on nccpunt of tho storm.- At 2 o'clbcktt was still LtoriflliiB, so nothing cqu'd bo done. The big baseball game scheduled for 4 o'clock had to bo postponed to another dato because tho ground vis too muddy". Thcro was so-much rain :.t n'ght that very few .attended tho dance. Altogether tho day was far from being tho big celobratlon that Logan peoplo had a right to expect. Everything possible was done, however. how-ever. Tho band was on hand at 10 o'clock hud played In tho tabernaclo for those who wero enthusiastic enough to conic out In spite ot tho rain. At 11 o'clock tho tnberunc'o was fairly well filled for'lhe patriotic patriot-ic program. Those who braved the storm wero more than pa'd for their hardihood. Tho program was excellent. excel-lent. Tho ralu had ceased befoo C:C0, and there was a big crowd out to hear the band concert ou tho tsber-i tsber-i naclo square. Tho music whs splendid splen-did but the air was quite cold and, thoso who came out without wraps wero not very comfortable. A most excellent program was rendered nnd the audienco applauded warmly at tho end ot each number. |
