Show Anthrax in Cows at Hyde Park Last Saturday, Gcorgo F. AslicroU of Hydo Pari; had a cow die very x suddenly which ho attributed to poisonous poi-sonous weeds. The remaining cows, six in number, appeared all right, when on Friday morning ho found two more of his cows dead. Dr.. O. W., Wennergren of this city was summoned, sum-moned, at once who held a post mortem mor-tem examination, when to his astonishment aston-ishment Instead, of poisonous weeds being found he susplcloned anthrax. Dr. Egbert, doputy state veterinary was called, but could not bo found. Dr. McQulston off Richmond waa called In for consuHatturv A microscope micro-scope was procured and smears made from tho splecnjind a largo vein, and. found tho baccllla anthracus. Tho, slides wero given to Dr. Lyman Dalnos.or'tho Brlgham Young College, who confirmed tto diagnosis. Tho animals wero burned at once under Roctors McQulston, Wonncrgron's and instructions and twenty head ot Uorsi es and cows vaccinated.
