Show Body of Mrs. Wilson Taken to Rome, Ga. Funeral Services at the White House Brief and of Simplest Character Washington, Aug. 10. Woodrow Wilson, president of tho United States, was making the saddest Journey Jour-ney of his life tonight. In a special train bearing the body of Mrs. Wilson Wil-son to Its flnaj resting place beside the graves ot her father and mother, hn was on the way to Home, Ga sur rounded by his daughters and a fow members of his own and his wlfo's families. Tho last simple ceremony of tho funeral will tako place tomorrow afternoon af-ternoon In tho quiet, wooded cemetery ceme-tery of tho Georgia town. Then tho president will turn again tothe heavy burdens of his office and tho loneliness loneli-ness of the Whlto Houso. While flags drooped at half mast throughout tho capital today and thousands thou-sands of men and women gathered In the wldo avenuo before tho closed gates of tho Whlto Houso grounds, the first service was held over Mrs. Wilson's body In tho cast room. Services Very Simple In accordance with Mrs. Wilson's wish, tho servlco was of the simplest character. There was no music, only tho reading of a, few verses from the bible, a prayer by the Rev. Sylvester Syl-vester Beach of tho church which the Wilson family attended during their years In Princeton, Now Jersey, and a benediction pronounced by tho Rev, J. H. Taylor, at whoso church the president has worshipped since he, came to Washington. Less than 200 were present. Besides the family there were a few intimate friends, the members ot tho cabinet and their wives, tho commltteo from tho Senate Sen-ate and tho Houso headed by tho vice President and the speaker and the; employes of tho White Houso. Tho casket was borne from the Whlto Houso by six members of the " city police force, who for many years, have guarded the homo of the 'presidents. 'presi-dents. There wore no honorary pall bearers.
