Show MR. A. MUTT WANTSTO KNOW Hello Mr. Taxpayor, Sportsman and Everybody I Tiavo boen so busy with the different dif-ferent branches' of patriotic war work. I had nearly forgotten that an election was so near at hand until I noticed how very friendly some of my political friends are getting, with everybody and It took me some little ' time to figure out Just why this change had taken place In them. Now It has been quite a long time slnco election, but I would like to have some one tell mo something about that $25,000 the governor had our State Legislature appropriate, (for some fund or other) by whleh the people paying taxes In the State of Utah, would bo saved a fabulous sum of money, and incidentally have their taxes reduced. Now don't all you politicians speak at once. Well, I don't scorn to be able to get very much. Information out of that claBs. Now, can anyone please enlighten me' on this subject? And by the way people, I see by one of the city papers where a certain state senator has held a conference with our state fish and game warden and they have concluded that tha good old name of Sucker for a certain kind of fish, Is not exactly the proper prop-er name' by which this" fish should be called as they (the people) doa't ears to bay them with such a same, a our legislature is going to be asked to re-chrUten them, aad what do you think they are going to call thenar No, you are all wrong. Their I new name Is to bo mullett. Now, If bet you our hew fish cannery or the I state fish aad game warden or some body, will lose a lot of these new fish as they will not be accustomed to hearing themselves called mullet. And another thing I want to bring to the attention of you Cache Valley sportsmen, especially the fishermen. Any of you thinking of going oyster fishing (la our new oyster beds) will only have the present month and April, to do your fishing, as you all know any. month sot having aa 'R' la It Is a closed month oa oysters. And our different game wardens are going to watch you vary coeylls, as wWsMMt'preteet-tthe'gaaM. Aahx thTvvay did yeu heir f the 'five' Iteaft that were destroyed In Logaa Canyon, a short tlmo ago. I understand under-stand they,v (the lions) killed three deer, but did not eat ihera. Now that Is what I call very wasteful, more so than a few of our cltlsens who ate the deer. And I understand that down ,at Richfield, -the carcases of seven deerSrere brought Into town, In one autb.'and onPstate flah and game warden waanotlfled. I wonder won-der what he did about ItT Can any one here tellT With the season, for hunting these animals close (to the sportsman) until 1920. I think we should have some good shooting In the State of Utah. WjhenT Sometime. I thank you. A MUTT. |
