Show ! New Telephone Device. Of the many devices which have from time to time been Introduced for Improving the telephone or for permit J ting the user the free use of his hands, one of the latest, says the Scientific American, appears to be In every way Ideal. It consists of a sound chamber over which can be placed the usual telephone receiver, and a bifurcated tube ending In ear pieces. So in use the telephone receiver is removed from the hook and piacea on tne souna chamber, while the ear pieces arc placed In the cars; and the user, talking talk-ing In the normal tone, can carry on, a conversation with a party at the other end of the telephone line without with-out holding the receiver or stand. Furthermore, Fur-thermore, by splitting the sound and distributing It to the two ears, all extraneous ex-traneous noises are shut out and the conversation becomes much clearer.
