Show WHAT YOU MUST DO WITH , YOUR VISIONS AND IDEALS In tho Juno Amorlcan Magazlno Uavld Ornyson, writing his story "Hompnold," comments as follows on what a man must do with his visions vi-sions and Ideals; "Xo vision nnd no Idea Is worth n copper cent unloss It I3 brought down to earth, patiently harnosscd. painfully trained nnd sot to work. Thero Is n beautiful analogy that comes often to my mind. Wo conceive con-ceive nn Iden, ns a child Is conceived, conceiv-ed, In a transport of Joy; but nftor that thoro aro long months of growth In the closo dark warmth of the soul, to which ovory part of ono's personality person-ality must contribute, nnd then thoro Is tho painful hour of travail when at laBt tho idea Is given to the world. It Is a proiess that cannot bo hurried nor borno without suffering. And tho punishment of those who stop with tho Joy of conception thinking thoy can skim tho delight of life and avoid Its pain, Is tho smo in tho Intellectual Intellec-tual nnd spiritual spheres ns It Is in tho physical barrenness, nnd finally a terrible senso of fnlluro and of lonollnoss." |
