Tho commltteo, which Includes officials of-ficials of tho genoral lnnd offlco tho reclamation servlco and tho department depart-ment of labor, was appointed specif ically to consider means of broadening broaden-ing tho scopo of tho federal employment employ-ment bureau In tho departmont ot labor, la-bor, and It had tho cooperation of of-flc'ala of-flc'ala of tho post office department and tho dopartment of agriculture Tho plan now under consideration contemplates a system of farm credits cred-its operating through tho departmont of labor, which would enable workers In congested cities to take up agricultural agri-cultural land on govornment reclamation reclam-ation projects or public lands, on easy payment loans. President Wilson In n message to tho final session ot tho last Congress regretted tho Impossibility of tlio pas sago of n rural credits bill at that time, and It has been generally bo-llovcd bo-llovcd that ho will recommend some action on tho subject next winter. Tho plan, In addition to requiring an auxiliary credit system under tho control of the department of labor, would necessitate amendments to the reclamation laws and land laws.
