Show Davis Stake is Divided and New Officers Chosen Kayavllle, Juno 21. Important changes were made at tho quarterly conference.. of Davis stake, which was held hore'Saturday nnd 8unday. Tho Davis .stake ceased to ex'st and tho territory was divided into two stakes, to be known as North Davis and South Davis stakes. Tho dividing point Is between Kayavllle nnd Farmlngton, on a lino that practically evenly divides di-vides tho county geogrnph'cnlly nnd na to population. Presiding officers were chosen nnd suatnlned for tho new stakes at tho afternoon session of tho conferenco yesterday, President Presi-dent Charles W. Pcnroso nnd President Presi-dent Fronds M. Eldrcdgo and Jcsso M Smith ns counselors, has presided over Davis stal(o since Septembor 24, 1901. On nccount of deafness, President Pres-ident Grant asked the prlvllego of retiring. The North Davis stake comprises Kaysvllle, Lnyton, West Layton, Clear field, Syrocuso and West Point wards, and It Is oxpected that Clinton and South Weber wards, formerly part of Davis stake, but now attached to Weber We-ber stake, will bo returned to North Davis, thus bringing the stake and tho county lines together.
