Show m m MOST INTERESTING PROHIBITION MEETING Thero was a meeting of the Prohibition Pro-hibition committees of tho Logan wards held In the east basement of tho Tabernacle on Monday eveniiiR'at which there was a good representation from all the wards except the Eighth ward, which was not represented. Tho meeting was called by the county commltteo and was presided over by F. Scholes. Reports from the various committees showed that lu several of the wards very thorough work had been performed und preparations were made to take up u lgorous campaign in all the other wnfcls which wero represented. The committees commit-tees showed that they feel a deep Interest In-terest In the causo of prohibition and they nro determined to labor with a will to do away with tho saloon. All felt certain that Logan will go "dry" by a very large majority, and a number expressed their astonish meiit that any person claiming to be a member of the Church of .leaus Christ of Latter-day Saints could vote for the continuation of saloons. It was reported that nccordlng to the best Information obtainable about fifteen persons in Logan hold Internal revenue reven-ue licenses and the great surprise to the workers is that Illegal dealers uro not hooted down and vigorously prosecuted by tho local officers. From the remarks mado by a number of thobo present, It Is evident that these committees mean to leave no I stuuo unturned that is necessary to bring about tho abolishment of the liquor traffic in Logan. |
